With the talk yesterday regarding the painting around small panes of glass it reminded me of something. All the glass in this room had become yellow and frosted looking. The CC hired a contractor to replace all of it. I remember it took the one worker almost 3 weeks to replace all these small squares of glass. What a tedious job. They look great now with the new glass.

There's a frozen custard joint that just HAPPPENS to be in the shopping center I pass when I get off the freeway. Every so often after a round, I'll stop in there as it's pretty damn legit with what I grew up with in the south. 

 

Other than that; the occasional tiramisu at Piero's is the only sweet stuff I ever eat.

Life is too short to eat cheap ice cream. 3 or 4 times a month is my ice cream limit.

Just a sticker anyway.  😂.  The stuff they allow on or around “organic “ would blow your mind. It ain’t egg shells and coffee grounds. It’s all stuff you can’t handle without a respirator and a suit.  But the men with guns will come get you if you claim “ organic “ without paying the toll.  So I can be actually organic.  And be in trouble. But the grocery store can fleece you and they’re good. They paid the tax.

... You prefer those "Natural" products? 😇  It's like anything in 'Murica. You have to do your own research. I try and lead a chemical free lifestyle and the amount of folks dying from cancer here is off the charts here compared to around the world because Big Biz prefers profits over lives, and worse quality of those lives. I will not ingest glyphosate and will do everything in my power to avoid it. The fact that they still allow it to be sold is just mind boggling.

.. Imagine, killing weeds that are indigenous to any region so they can grow lawn grass which isn't indigenous to 'Murica is evidently what many want. I don't have a lawn but to kill weeds that pop up here I use vinegar, salt and a hint of dishwashing liquid that takes longer to work, but is non toxic and gets the job done. Weeds were a problem in the Midwest but these desert weeds are insanely aggressive because they have to be to survive in this heat with little water.

And man, with all the rain we got this past winter - they went absolutely nuts in the spring. 

 

Got back from the April tour and it looked like a had a lawn.

When I bought my house in Vegas the back yard was just gravel, dirt, and dust. I had a pro landscape company design and build it 3 months after I moved in. I took 5 estimates and design ideas. I went with an Asian owned outfit. Being from the Midwest and back east I wanted it green, lush, and plentiful.  There was remote controlled lighting and a fully automatic sprinkler system. There wasn't much space back there, but when it wasn't roasting hot outside my back patio was nice little bushy garden to spend some time in.

The new owner had it all ripped out and replaced with stones and cactus. In my time we watered all we wanted, that is not the case today. The neighborhood also had a nice sized community pool and hot tub that I frequently used. 

 

That was the neighbors kid's toy. I did not have kids. 

 

As you can see the homes are real close together in the desert unless you are spending a million +.  It maybe more than that now aye aen?  It takes some getting used to. 😃

At least you weren't a "Get off my lawn!"  kind of guy when the kids came over to play with their toys. Kudos.  Also guessing there was some serious practice chipping and pitching going on there, too.

For the most part, yeah. Big reason I didn't wanna move to Summerlin - houses are stacked right next to each other and yeah, unless you're dropping ... yeah, about what you said, your "backyard" is a sliver.

 

I'm generally on a bigger lot than most here. It's a corner lot at the end of a cul-de-sac (like, there's no turning into my driveway - you just go straight down the street and straight in) so def as much as space as I care to have ...
