As golfers, we on this forum, play because we are dedicated to and love the game. We work hard to excel, which is always our goal. We do it for ourselves and for our pride... we want to be as good as we can be.

And we don't even get paid for it.

Anything I do I try to do good to the best of my abilities from changing oil in my car to playing golf. Anything worth doing is worth doing the right way the FIRST time. Golf aint always like that but I try my best

My group decided to play a course we haven't been to in a few months. Cummings Cove is a stern test of golf with it's tight tree lined fairways and elevation changes. The weather is just spectacular, 76* with a breeze under mostly sunny skies.

We begin our afternoon of golfing fun at straight up 1 o'clock.

LP is happy. 🙂 🏌️

🤣 I don’t know yet, I don’t listen sports radio 📻 and actually…I just saw that Disney and Spectrum made a deal and ESPN is working here again.

But let’s see the Post back cover…

It’s funny. I absolutely agree with you , and I m doing it after seeing how unpopular it is. 🤣.  My perception is the same.  And for various reasons.  I absolutely love college football. And I go to a high school game almost every Friday night. But I cannot tell you the last nfl game I watched. Not even the Super Bowl. Probably goes back to the Janet Jackson teet-gate incident…..that’s a long time ago.  I’ve caught a few moments of some 49ers games just to watch Debo. But that’s it.  In my opinion seeing an nfl player play like Debo is rare.  He plays like a hungry man.

now I have my flame suit on.  So bring it. I realize it’s my opinion.  But it’s not like I just made it up one day and decided to not watch one level of a sport I like.  This perception came from  somewhere.  Same as why I quit watching mlb baseball in 94.  There’s a reason.  But with football I can’t put my finger on the exact time. I just know that one day o was watching LT , sanders , rice , Montana , and the fridge ,,and then one day I didn’t want to watch it anymore. Everytime I stop and try I’m bored to tears.

I watched Deebo’s entire game yesterday and also watched a bunch of other guys play with just as much intensity as him all across the NFL. No flame 🔥 suits necessary. Just what I watched and my opinion.

I will say that even without watching the Giants that closely last year, I couldn’t believe they gave Daniel Jones that kind of contract!

I thought he was pretty lame, it’s shocking how bad the NY teams ownership/front office has been for decades.

Exactly what me and everyone else thinking as we watched. In his defense, he had ZERO protection from his line. There were like 8/9 sacks. It was brutal

Yeah, that’s very true. Hope it doesn’t go that way for ARoj! 😱 Jets line  is questionable….

I get the reaction to my post. That’s why I said it like I did. You're not wrong. But I’m not either.  I try at times and cannot get up for it. Yet I love Saturdays for college ball. There’s just a difference.  And it’s a on off thing for me.

Lol. I just used that as a time line.  I don’t personally care that she staged a free Willy moment on tv.  I just thought of that as the last nfl game I probably watched  in it’s entirely.  I might have watched a super bow since then.  But really I can’t remember.  What I do know I love Super Bowl Sunday , because the golf course is a ghost town.

I think part of the issue is.  Disconnection. Once you stop watching for 10-15 years , you don’t know anybody. So watching again is very hard.  I don’t know any name you just mentioned except Debo. Never heard either name in my life.

Back when I played golf on Sunday I loved the NFL kept the idiots off the golf course. I used to love college football season for the same reasons on Saturday. Around here though it does not seem to make a difference on Saturday. I know the staff at my course says Sunday is their slowest day especially in football season

#8 at Cummings Cove is one of my favorite par 3's in the area.

No room for error.

Today it's playing 155 yds.

You know, I actually went through a similar period of disinterest in football and pro sports in general

It was around the time in the late 90s and on when

guys didn’t care about TEAM

guys just cared about “ME”

As soon as I started seeing guys just make a routine tackle in the 1st Quarter and then

Stand up and start pounding their chest “me, me, me!!” like they just single-handedly won the Super Bowl

I just started shutting off the 📺 more and more

Im coming around a bit last couple years. Can’t deny the NFL is the greatest show on earth as far as athleticism goes.

I can relate. I can’t stand Jerry Jones and based on usual letdowns from the Cowboys, I’ve drifted away from the game, at least compared to how intensely I used to follow it. It was actually pretty liberating to discover there were other things to do on a Sunday, especially in the fall when we have the best weather of our year. But then I get involved with stuff like the NFL thread here or a fantasy league and start paying closer attention. Plus, it’s just not the same game, and not just because of the rules changes. Can’t put my finger on it - maybe over saturation for me. With games on Thursday, all day Sunday, Sunday night and then Monday night, it’s just not special like it once was.

Things and priorities change over the course of one's life... they're either replaced by something else or they just go away.  I think that is in the realm  of simplification.

I remember when I was in college and I'd clean a restaurant in the evenings.  On Super Bowl Sunday I didn't have to do a thing in the men's bathroom... nobody used it.
