best green contour book / app?

Enlighten me how. I even tried to mirror my phone to my PC. You know what the putt map looked like on my PC? A black screen while in golflogix.

I was referring to your point about taking pics of a tablet with your phone as the workaround. 

But I do get why they do it. Just significantly reduces my interest in the app.

Anyone who actually uses a physical book? From some searching around here, seems like strackaline makes the best books? 

 

80% of my rounds right now are at two courses. I'd rather have a quick book I can pull out instead of fumbling with the phone.

If you mean in round, I’m sorry haven’t used it so I don’t know what it allows to be entered.

 I don't think it tracks anything "in round", but you can enter stats when you enter your score for handicap purposes.

 

It will compile them over time and show the usual stuff (fairways, greens, putts, and etc.). It will also show you % of miss for fairways and greens if you enter that info (left, right, short, long). It gives you your scoring average on Par 3s,4s, and 5s as well as an overall scoring summary (% par or better, % of bogeys, % of doubles or higher, and so on...)

So fairway left/right , gir, and putts. You can enter green missed location as well??  Did you subscribe? How is the green contours-load fast?

Did you subscribe? I have a GHIN membership via my club, but I did pay the extra $30 or $40 last year for the gps/green map feature. Mainly it was just out of curiosity. FWIW you don't need to have the gps/map feature to enter your stats. You just put those in when you enter your scores for your handicap.

 

How is the green contours-load fast? Fine I guess. As I mentioned I only did it out of curiosity and it's not really something I use at my home club since I've played it so much I have the greens memorized. As far as it loading... I assume it depends on your cell/mobile service at that particular time/location.

I've used and like The Grint for the phone but would actually prefer to have less tech and be off my phone during rounds so looking at 'old school' options like Golflogix or Strackaline books, anyone have any feedback and usage on those two?

I know this is months later and to be honest someone could’ve answered this already but if you hit the settings cog in the top right when you’re on the green view in the GHIN app it does give you a break down of each color in % numbers. Hope this helps!
