If this trend continues, Pettersen will get roasted. To me, it’s coming down to the short games as the Euros either got some bad lies or executed some poor shots and putts. As I watched the 1st few holes of the morning session, had a feeling the USA would dominate, but never expected the sweep. 

 

Unfortunately for her and the Europeans, the onslaught continues as USA wins first hole of the afternoon session.  Europe had excellent opportunity to win first hole of 2nd match but let Thompson/Vu off the hook.  Hole tied. 

 

Was actually wondering beforehand how I could effectively watch the Solheim and the KLPGA Hana Bank in the same weekend…the Americans may make that decision shockingly easy.

I don't understand why you would send out 2 Solheim rookies (Linn & Maja) to lead team Euro just because they wanted to play together and be first off. Proper captains say no, you'll be overwhelmed, as they were at the start.

 

The Anna/Leona pairing was also meh. Anna is about as inspiring as warm milk and played poorly. A Leona/Maddie pairing would have been better with Maddie's length trumping Nellie's plus her emotion that Leona showed last Solheim with Mel works for her.

 

However, a really professional job done by the US, fantastic performance on 'enemy' soil, couldn't have been better.

 

Stacy is very cluey.

OMG. Just turned on and can’t believe what I’m seeing.  Maybe this analytics stuff works. Had a good feeling about the Ewing group but the others did not give me much confidence in the U. S. Nice Job. Wow, how did Lexi play. Must have held it together.

Fell asleep when the first group was making the turn in the morning session (was like 3 am) and woke up to see the score. Wow. Definitely did not see that coming. And that is why I don’t bet on golf haha. 
 

In hindsight, does this course being played on Bermuda grass favour the Americans who have more experience playing on it?

Still early days here though, the euros will only improve. However, the pick for Hedwall now must be questioned...she is clearly not fancied to do job today so why pick her?
