I messed with one of these at PGA Superstore today. I rolled it well, but it felt like an absolute tank considering my gamer is 33.5” with a 335 gram head. 😂

Well after rolling each one for about 2 weeks now I think the WH version is staying and the MH will be sold

Is the verdict that the white hot is better on faster greens? Haven’t tried micro hinge but thinking it’s not even worth it

I tried the WH version yesterday on a fast green. I can see where this would take some feel learning to get speed dialed on long putts,  it it is point and shoot on 5’ and in.  Also could just be my eye, but it seemed to lay open at address and I had to manipulate the face to square.

That's probably an installation error with the double bend shaft. Common problem. Any golf shop should be able to fix that in 5 minutes

It's a shame they're rushing these out with lax QC. Seems like at this price point they'd get them right. 

 

The shaft install is in fact easily fixed but I don't know how anyone will be able to realign a long Super Stroke grip.

So I decided to pick one up at my local pgass, luckily the one I bought didn't have any qc issues.  Was able to test out both since a friend of mine has the MH insert jailbird, between the two I preferred the WH insert.  Hopefully this guy will stay in the bag as my issue is putting when getting on the green, as mentioned before this putter is pretty much point and shoot.  Don't think i'll be able to test this guy on fast greens since the midwest temps are starting to drop.

I would think you should have had it by now. I received mine about two weeks ago and I ordered within the last 2 hours of the pre-orders.

That’s crazy and doesn’t sound right at all.  What are they saying the holdup is with this?

I haven't gotten an answer. They just said that they are waiting to hear back from the rep.... 2 weeks ago.

Welp I ripped the grip off today and glued in an extension. Going try it out as an armlock and see what happens.

I tried both and I personally prefer MH since the courses i play usually have faster greens.

Was able to get the jailbird WH insert out on a course with fast greens as was happy with the distance control from 10 feet and out, would like to try out the MH insert for comparison but no stores or courses have it in stock.  I've always been a decent lag putter but the 5-15 feet range for me has held me back from going low, hopefully this relationship lasts a little bit.  Also for anyone that has bought the Jailbird stock has anyone gone anywhere to get the loft adjusted, looking to get it turned down to 2 degrees.

I found the same issue with mine MH, the shaft was not installed properly and mine sits about 10 deg. open, to square it up my hands have to be a good inch behind the ball. I set it up against the side of a kitchen cabinet on the counter and found it way out of whack. Contacted Callaway Customer Service and they are shipping me a new one.  I think the shaft is very soft as well. I think you can change the lie and by leaning on it when standing.

Bought a dinged up jailbird for cheap. Not a fan of how long it plays and would like to cut it down to play 34in. Besides the head feeling heavier. Is there anything I need to be mindful of before having it cut down to length?

Didn’t think about installation error.  Mine didn’t sit square either.  Returned it and moved on.

I cut mine down to 35” recently. Love it. 
experimented with a 25 gm counter weight in grip but found that I prefer it without the weight.

Extended mine 2.5 inches and used it as an armlock today. One of the best putting rounds I've had in awhile. We'll see if it lasts...

I actually think you are right…I’m just being a smart a**. Total weight is 630. Still, two layers of lead tape doesn’t get it there.

I stuck with the MH. If both putters were hit dead in the sweet spot I probably slightly preferred WH though. MH won for me due to perceived faster speed off the face and it just rolls nice for me. I would have said I'd pick the firmer one before testing them but the softer MH is growing on me. I was also one of the 5 people in the world to like the Nubbins back in the day so who knows.

 

My distance control is by far the best I've ever had with a mallet and maybe even better than the Newports I putted with forever. I did switch back to crosshand and it's the first time I've felt confident in distance control with that grip.

How can you tell if it’s microhinge vs. white hot insert? I’ve seen the actual insert for the “white hot” version be BOTH white in color (standard) and black in color… 

 

but all microhinge seem black. How can one tell?
