Callaway has plans to make many more of these....milk the ole cash cow!  They are also going to offer a few different (mallet) head shapes in the 38-40 length long.

I think Callaway sells a weight kit. 
 

for individual weights, I always just buy on Amazon or eBay. Similar to this

Clubs should be not conforming unless they come in both lefty and righty. Playing at a competitive disadvantage

Seeing a lot of these turn over quickly. Lots of the Mezz putters turning over as well.
 

Seems like people are only willing to carry big funny-looking putters if they somehow make everything they look at. If it’s going to putt like everything else they don’t wanna be seen with it. 🙂

Tried to comb through the 40 some odd pages in this thread--but in regards to the shaft, can anyone confirm if it's a tank shaft?  Or just a longer, normal diameter steel shaft(remember the tank shaft was pretty thicc)?  Believe I read there isn't a weight plug and the longer grip serves as the weight for CB.

I can confirm. Ripped off the grip last week to extend it and it’s a beast shaft. Had trouble getting a new grip back on. 
 

Also I have a couple more rounds in using it as an armlock. Have had great results. 
 

Surprisingly, I feel like I need to add some weight to it but from my understanding the 25g is the heaviest weights they make.

It's 2g/" tape. I'd put it at 405g. Automatic now on the stroke (for me).

 

The MH is the one I taped up but still left everything in the jaws 1" short on fall slower greens.  I think it's too soft for me.

 

I had to get the WH and try. She also got the tape treatment and is the current gamer.

Question on cutting down the JB.

 

I’m 5’5” so the 39 is just way too long. I usually use a 32” putter so I’m thinking of cutting the JB down to 36.5”

 

Is there any mathematical way to figure out what counterweight to put in to keep the feel the same as intended? Assuming I replaced the grip with the same as the current, there’s no countercore weight port so I’d have to use a plug in the shaft.

 

I don’t think it’s a as simple as swingweight… the current one is off the scale anyway. 

 

Appreciate any help on this.

A buddy of mine showed me his today with the MH insert. I enjoyed rolling it indoors at the sim center. Will definitely be watching the prices of used ones when the grass starts greening up again in April. 

 

I've always liked the feeling of counter-balanced putters. The head of the Jailbird felt quite light to me but easy to keep on path.

Just thought I would share for those that have made returns and or are thinking about making a return.

 

I got the MH and after taking the plastic off and rolling it, I decided it was not for me. Sent it back to Callaway. It took about a month but they gave me a full refund.

I got mine via pre-order with Dick's. Think they'd take it back for a full refund if I take the plastic off?

 

Not sure what I'm going to do with mine yet, but I putted so poorly yesterday with my relatively-trusty 2-Ball that I'm really temped to pull the plastic and get the Jailbird on the course.

As long as it can pass as "new" I would think they would take it back depending on their policy.

 

I returned mine within the 30 day window for the Callaway full refund.

Want to add in, that I absolutely love how my WH Jailbird putts but I absolutely HATE the WH insert. I'm debating making my own version of this with a Scotty Phantom 11 as the head.
