Is this Circle T worth 3K?

Is this CT Newport 2.6 with a CT Jackpot Johny a good buy at 3k? Thanks all for inputs.

Will it help you drop your scores by enough strokes to be worth 3k to you? For me, it would have to drop my scores by about 20 strokes to be worth it...but that's just me, everyone is free to throw their hard earned cash at whatever they want

A bit high, not much demand for a 2.6. Then again seller will probably go "well how many 2.6 CTs do you see for sale?".

If you are looking at it to play it...no. It's no different than an OTR + extra engraving.

 

If you are looking at it to "invest"...also no.

What would be a good price for this putter? Aren't CT putters supposed to be handcrafted? So in theory all CT putters are no different than OTR besides engravings? I'm not familiar with CT, hence so many questions. Thank you.

The only difference in CT vs OTR is that all the really high end stuff have options only available to CT and in certain configurations. You'll never find an OTR 009. Is it wildly different than a Newport? Not really, there are certainly differences *cue the fanboy rage.

 

Is an 009 "handcrafted"? Yes, in that it's milled to it's basic form, face milled, then shaped/stamped/paintfilled by hand. A newport will be milled/face milled/shaped on a CNC in bulk, then paintfilled. 98% of the stampings available on the 009 are not available on an OTR.

 

The specific CT you have above is 99.6% The same as an OTR. The sole engraving is different, and the shaft band and grip probably have a little CT on them...and the grip is the same golf pride that everyone else uses.

And as I dive in the rabbit hole instead of working like I should be...I'm becoming less convinced that's a real CT anyway. Could be an Alibaba special.

Cruise the Club Cameron site or ask others here. Just based on the face mill I'd said it's fake but I'm not a Scotty guy.

The putter is 100% real, worth 3k? 100% not.... to somebody maybe, but that is a MAX 2k putter in my eyes. Lots of nicer models for 3k available.

It is real, no doubt, but like others have said, is no more "tour" than the extra engravings. Before COVID, this would have been a sub $1500 putter at best. If you are just looking for a tour putter, there are better deals and cooler models, even some with hand stamping, to be had at that price.

I had the OTR 2.6 version and regretted selling it. Putters aren't for others to decide it's value. That should be the person buying it. If it's something that makes you feel great over putts, you like how it looks and have the funds to purchase? Get it. It's definitely one I wish I never sold.... lesson learned in true WRX fashion. "Gotta catch them all, keep'em all"...
