Ok..who ordered a Krank Formula Fire Pro driver head? Let's hear it

Anybody hit one of these things? Curious on how low spin they are.

I swing in the 120-125mph range on course. Given up on Sim and Stealth after breaking several. Playing my 2nd Paradym TD head now, which will eventually cave in again. Have a pile of broken driver heads, so genuinely curious about these. I like what I heard from B about the face shape and gearing. I always seem to hit Taylormade stuff the best, so I am probably accustomed to Twistface

I don't understand why this was moved to the Long Driver's Lab section?  The discussion is intended to be about on-course Krank drivers

6 degree Formula Fire dialed down to 5 has been my gamer since they were released. Lol had it on pre order since being a lefty it's one of around 2 LH friendly companies. Had the F11 before that. Not to over complicate it they are dang good. Used Krank on the course from mid 120 swing speeds to now mid 140s and they are reliable.

love it !

Would you consider these super low spin? Do you get to pick a head weight or adjust it ?

Hitting a 9° Paradym TD now. Thinking about trying a 7.5 Fire Pro

I can say for me they keep the spin rate where it needs to be along with the shafts I use so it's finding the combo that suits the numbers you're looking for.

Weight wise I've not altered them but I'm sure you can ask Lance or his guys specifics when ordering.

Broke another Paradym TD today. Had Krank on the phone in 5 mins 😄

Ordered a Formula Fire and got to pick my desired head weight. VERY excited to get it in my hands. Paradym had less than 75 balls on it.

Makes me wonder why?  Why do you break these drivers when the guys on tour manage to not break them….at least not so often.  Less than center contact?

There were three players that averaged over 125 and a total of 26 over 120.

You would think more were breaking theirs seeing how you do so often.

Those guys do more than 75 balls per week with driver and does not happen often at all.

It was $292 or $294 shipped with the $150 off sale they have going on

I would guarantee the Callaway guys are breaking these things if I am.

I’m in the 122-125mph range pretty consistently, but nothing crazy

Both my breaks/dents were on balls that were 8-10mm low/toe side. That’s like 2-3 dimples from center so nothing crazy. I imagine the face could be thinner there , not sure ?

And I know that tour guys hand pick their heads, and the harder swinging guys pick heads with lower COR (thicker faces) and they are tour heads. Rory discusses this regarding his TM stuff

They all break heads but have no reason to advertise it when it happens

I think these guys go through more heads than we think.    Neither the player nor the manufacture is going to advertise that for various reasons.

I agree.

Related (I think) to this, I remember reading something earlier this year when Rory said the Tour guys have to change heads because after repeated hitting the faces get thinner and may not meet the CoR requirements.

Found the article:

Golf Digest article

I haven't reread it since posting the link, so my memory may be off regarding the details of what he actually said.

I picked up a 9° Pro head. Mine took about 2 weeks but they said that it would up front. I wouldn’t be alarmed

It’s pretty solid and performs similar to my Paradym TD.

Honestly i just can’t get over the look. It’s quite different

I've been using it and so far it's pretty good. The biggest issue I had was the sound, too loud and tinny. I removed the two 5g weights and ordered some 1.5g weights to replace them. I then put 7g of hot melt and now it sounds incredible.

One thing I noticed was how easy it is to hit straight. For a smaller footprint at address, it's very forgiving if you miss the middle and shots don't curve much.

I noticed the exact same thing. My miss tends to be toe side and with my regular driver, those turn quite snappy in a hurry. With the Formula Fire the ball flight is really straight. At first I thought the same thing about the sound, but truthfully, after I saw the ball flight, I got over that pretty quickly.

I thought I could live with the sound too until someone on the range asked me if I was hitting "one of those Nike Sumo drivers". After that, something had to be done 😂
