Driver with the best sound/feel?

Therefore, my answer to this question is by far the G430 LST.  Feels like a marshmallow and sounds like a muted thud.  Pings drivers this year are phenomenal.  TSr, close second.

 

Apologies... Not the latest Ping offerings that I've had in the bag. The 430 was mentioned to be more muted I believe, yes.

Agreed, got to try one out at dicks sprorting goods, felt great, sounded good, but somehow (my natural swing is a fade) no matter how i would swing it, it would power draw about 30 yds, even set up for a fade... LOL

I don't like muted, I prefer a little noise,  a more explosive sounding driver. Though, I think the noise that the Nike Sasquatch made was way overdone. Cobra SZ sounded piercing indoors but outside it was one I liked, I have the 3 wood in my bag now. I loved the punch in gut feel and sound that my old Titleist 975D had. Hall of Famer that one was. Never had a problem with any Pings. Total dislike for Callaway Rogue, dull and harsh feeling. I have a 400 SFT. As for Taylor made, I think the Burner 2007 sounded and felt the best. I have the OG SIM, although not as loud its very solid, like the 975D. I recently demo'd  a PXG 0811 Gen 2 to see if all the hype is real. Came away not thrilled at all. Felt too soft and quiet for me. Cleveland Turbo HB sounds great. Its such a personal thing.

I've actually hit some drivers where after contact...I'm like...dang it...I missed that one bad.  But the ball still gets out way out there, and when I look at the face, the ball mark is maybe only a half inch left or right from dead center.  Anything a half inch higher than dead center sounds like I hit the ball with a frying pan, but it still performs within my expectations for that type of contact.

 

It really caught me off guard when I first hit it...but I quickly got over it as my driving is better than ever.

I agree with the LTDx being an incredibly stable driver. It’s just such a good all around performer. The shape is great too. 
 

About feel though… I have found every driver feels and sounds like crap off center and not compressed. I’ve tried a lot. The LTDx compressed well is very rewarding. Soft, punchy and a quieter metallic sound. It’s easy to get used to. I found the newer Aerojets to be a bit louder and more metallic. Not sure I liked it.

Titleist TSR2 and TSR3 are great ... but the 3 actually feels better than the 2. The 2 has a kind of soft metallic feel, which is nice, but the 3 feels a little firmer and springy -- a really powerful, satisfying feel. 

 

But I like them both, and sometimes play them both.

I thought the 3 was the softest driver ive ever hit. You can send me the 2 so i can try it 😃.

Ones i’ve liked most for sound feel:

 

- Callaway: Rogue ST Max LS, Paradym Triple D, standard Mavrik. 
- Titleist: TSi2/3, TSR 2/3

- Ping - G400 sounded great, nothing since has matched it.

- Wilson - D9 and DynaPower carbon. 
- TaylorMade SIM

I put a Ventus TR shaft in mine and it is performing admirably.

G430 LST with that carbon crown makes for a nice muted sound.  One of the best around imo.
