Alligator Belts

Wanting to see who is familiar with the many alligator belt manufacturers in the golf market, and who everyone would recommend based on experiences?

My go to for crocodile and alligator belts  is Links and King.

I have a leather alligator pattern from ace of clubs that has been ok for a cheap belt

Jacob Hill Leather is highly recommended on this site. I have six of their belts, happy with them all.

Go with saltwater croc from Jacob hill

I've bought nicer belts from 3 places: Amazon - sent it back, looked/felt pretty cheap,

Artifex - Bought 2 suede alligator belts. Not quite as nice as Jacob Hill, but less than half the price, 

Jacob Hill - Top notch, better than Artifex but you need to decide if the $$ diff is worth it. 

 

I've purchased several belts in different materials from JH and Artifex. I've been happy with all of them, but JH definitely does a better job of matching the patterns/hiding the seam on the belt.

I’ve got a handful of belts from Roger Ximenez/Antas Apparel. Mine are mostly the embossed croc style, but i’ve been very pleased with them. They do offer the legit croc/gator as well if you’re willing to spend the extra cash. But I would highly recommend giving them a look!

Yah, I have a saltwater croc that has been basically a daily wear (welL I rotate a couple)

Dunno how many years in, but not really showing wear

 

I look at it this way with these saltwaters.  Pay on the front end and they last for a long friggin time

Since have a couple that I rotate, that helps as well.  But honestly my favorite I wear an awful lot (more than the others, and really it is holding up so well

But these are as durable as I've ever had

Before I bought any nice belts, I got some great advice from other WRX'ers . Get on the Jacob Hill mailing list (they send out non-web specials, and sell sample belts this way), and keep an eye on the specials and ready to ship sections on the web site. I have 5 JH belts and none were purchased at full price.

Jacob Hill & Gibbons are both great.

If you want the original gator belt all the pros use you’ll want to go with house of Fleming. He’s been doing every pro since the 90s. You pick your own skin and everything is 1 of 1. They’re $$$ though. They start at $600.

Now I want a Jacob Hill saltwater crocodile belt. But I can't decide what color to get. Can't decide between navy, black, or brown...always wear dark grey or navy pants. I was thinking navy belt for the blue pants, and black for the dark grey, but I'm not a style expert so idk. lol

 

I also really like the arctic, and white water belt on the site, but idk I kinda feel like I should go with a style that's more normal for more occasions...

Just ordered a black one! And some black loafers to wear it with at the office. Most of my office shoes are brown, so idk how a black belt goes with those. But can't go wrong with black everything lol

 

And you're probably not wrong about ending up with more than one...but for now this is it. ha

I started off thinking I'll just get a navy blue and a gray alligator. 3 years later I have pink, turquoise, white, brown, black, light blue, and more shades of gray! They are beautiful!

Druh makes crocodile print belts also that are really good quality for being leather as I just looked up the Jacob Hill belts and saw that they are $400 bucks a pop!

I received an american bison leather from jacob hill this week and the quality is superb! i think a matte alligator or saltwater crocodile will be the next purchase. i highly recommend jacob hill.

Another vote for Jacob Hill.  Sign up for their email subscription to receive weekly notification on special discounted items.  I have six of their belts, two scorecard holders, and few wallets, and the quality and craftsmanship is second to none.  I’ll continue to grow the collection, that’s how much I love their products!

I have a few Druh belts and honestly they just look cheap.  The embossing makes it very obvious that the belts are not authentic exotics.  Tom Taylor has a store in Santa Fe and sells online, he has some beautiful exotics.
