Man, this is exactly what I've been working on for months. Good stuff here.

(And man, this dude is like my long lost uncle. Built eerily like my own weird build 😂)

Reminiscent of the Bobby Lopez 2 o'clock drill. According to Bobby, Jack used to say "I want to get the club to the ball before the buttons of my shirt".

Similar feel to the Justin Rose drill as well.

  • zacgolf changed the title to Move Your Hands, Arms Faster

Agree with the intent (works for me) but when you have to ask folks in the first 3 seconds of the vid to stay to the end, lol, it’s a hint that there will be a lot of blah, blah in between and then the only “key” is what your right foot is doing, which most should ignore, IMO. Nice swing, nice accent, good idea but a few out there actually explain better the how and why that will get the arms/hands idea across in a way someone could drill and incorporate into their swing. He seems to miss the boat on sequencing.

Actually met and worked with Andrew a bit many years ago at a now defunct driving range in Windermere Florida. At that time, he was working with at least one PGA Tour pro and had a full lesson slate at the range. At the time was a very good player as well. Unfortunately, the driving range was sold for housing development and he moved on.

IIRC, he was really good at dumbing things down and didn't get into the weeds. That was before the biomechanical phase golf instruction is in now, so don't really know how his teaching style has evolved. I've now watched a couple of his vids regarding arm speed, back to the target and they seem like they could help a few players.

Windermere golf center?

I worked with Tim Lewis from 2002-2004 out there.

I don't remember this guy.

Yep - he was out there at the same time as Mike Yurigan and Neil Barnhill. Maybe he moved on before you started with Lewis.

Hmm well interesting that I see this video today. My front 9 was awful I couldn't hit the ball straight and the swing felt terrible. Shot a 44. Back 9 I focused on quieting the lower body and wow the difference was night day. Kept the ball in play, hit most of the fairways and shot even par for the first time ever on a 9. My lower body tends to get overactive and my hips spin out and who knows where the ball will go.

Struggled with this for a long time till I saw one of Monte's videos. Used to be a massive leg surge/fire the hips guy. My arms were so far behind my body it was a wonder I didn't hit irons two feet behind the ball

Intent of speeding the arms has made massive improvements in my game

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
