Who has made the switch from Scotty Cameron to Evnroll putter and never looked back?

So long story short. Some how my Scotty large matador grip came clean off my putter shaft and is currently stuck at the bottom of my golf bag. Anyways my buddy was kind enough to let me use his Evnroll ER11 with short plumbers neck for the round. Aside from the hideous looks, at least in my opinion and sound of the putter. I was draining putts with it. Never ever practicing with it or even trying it out before hand. It was just automatic. Its probably a honey moon stage. But come on, 28 putts with no previous usage on 4 missed greens. and a final best score of 70. Am I considering Evnroll putters now? Thats a definite yes. Honey moon stages? Or Evnroll is a legit putter? I really don't hear or see much of these putters on the course.

Won't really see them at major pro events cause $$$$ talks. Lower level pro ranks you'll probably find more, fitting studio, people desperate to try a new putter (golfwrx and similar).

The feel and speed from the tech is love or hate. But their recent lines have a ton of options and if it works use it.

I wouldn't look back.  An off the rack scotty is nothing special. Neither is an Evroll. Whatever works/fits best, you should go with it.

I can't stand the feedback/feel of Evnroll putters that I've tried but I do think the gravity grip is awesome. Hard to ignore results though and I say give the nod to whichever club puts the ball in the hole!

Agreed on the Gravity grip. Tried a few Evnrolls, but none of them stuck around - with the face grooves they use, it just feels kind of dead.

However, I now have a batch of Gravity grips that I put on any mallet putter I use - makes my hands feel much more steady through the putting stroke.

OP: If the Evnroll you borrowed had a Gravity grip, maybe try one on the Cameron and see how it goes.

I actually went from evnroll to Scotty, and liked the Scotty even less. So then to odyssey… I’m sure I’ll change soon. it’s all confidence and personal preference.

interesting to see what happened with no expectations or preconceived notions. Unfortunately, that will change

I'm a big fan of my ER5, but I don't think I'm getting along well with the Gravity Grip. I know a lot of people love it, but I am considering switching out to a SuperStroke Pistol grip, or the Ping PP60 Traction grip.

Although, if you don't like the sound/feel/looks of the putter now, do you think it's something you can grow to like later on down the line?

Yes for sure. Problem is the golf stores locally don’t have a whole lot of options to actually try out. Which is a bummer.

Don’t get fooled by randomness, but still trying to figure out how a putter grip falls off.

I'm not sure. It was regripped with a new grip 2 weeks ago by a local shop. And my clubs have been in my trunk since. I have since got the grip out from the bottom of the bag.

Was it a SuperStoke? I have to build them up to a bit to fit snug on a Scotty shaft. Seems any of those “non-rubber” types are like that.

No it’s a large Scotty Matador grip. It was clearly a half a** job done. Only half tape was used. Took it back to the shop that did it. And got a free replacement grip and labor.

I'm going into my 3rd season with my ER2 Black from Evnroll and it's been exactly what I was looking for.

I had trouble with the ball bouncing on putts of longer distances and putts I needed to "hit". Since the switch to the ER2, the ball rolls super smoothly off the face and my distance control has improved dramatically. I'm also making more putts from inside 15 feet as well.

No looking back for me.

I've gamed a few Evnroll (ER2, EV2, ER5). I had them adjusted to my specs and they performed great on fast greens. Not a huge fan of the sound, was a little tingy, but it didn't bother me a ton. On slow greens, I felt like I had to hammer the ball to get it to the hole, even after taking time to get used to the green speeds. I think he makes good putters, nothing super unique, but nice stuff.

I think this was common. Many putts left short when I used it.  Something about the face...maybe it was willed a touch too deep? Not sure, but a shallower baseline face pattern would have been better.  I was told by a friend they could mill it lighter on custom orders...not sure though.

I can understand I guess why it’s easy to hate on SC. Price is a little high for off the shelf mass produced, collectors can be a little obsessed and cult-like behavior, their custom shop customer service can be a bit pretentious like you’re asking them to change the paint on the Mona Lisa, Circle T stuff is just a cash grab for SC and resale but honestly not that special, still not sure why people buy the MOTO…the list goes on. That being said, I still think they’re good milled putters, and I prefer the feel and performance over the Evnroll.

But, I’d love to her feedback from someone who had the milling changed on an Evnroll so it was less of a dead feeling, would definitely get my interest back up. Even if their prices are basically the same as SC. Until I have to resell it 🤣

I got fitted for the ER10 (outback) about 18 months ago...it helped my ability to hit putts on line tremendously but I have not been able to adapt to the dead face feeling.  I am constantly struggling with distance gauging due to having to forward press on the majority of putts.

Anyone else have this issue?  The putter with the 2nd best results at my fitting was the SC Phantom 7.

After transitioning from a pre-owned off-the-rack Scotty putter to a custom-fitted ER10, my game has significantly improved. Living in San Diego provides access to an EVNRoll studio, and I am confident that I won't go back to my old putter after the fitting. I am now consistently hitting my target line and one-putting more often. Although adjusting to the dead face feeling takes time, honing distance control through practice is key. Like all putters it’s something to get used to.

This is 100% my experience so far. Just 1 round in with the Evenroll. It certainly has a dead feeling. The pace required to hit it is much more than the Scotty. I left putts short a lot. The Scotty is much more lively off the face. The Evenroll lives up to its reputation of starting the roll immediately after impact where the Scotty shoots off faster and then establishes the roll. Clearly this is because of the face differences. The Evenroll's sharp lined face definitely bites the ball at impact, whereas the Scotty has minimal face milling and no bite feel.  Both clubs feel solid to me but the Evenroll will require some time to get the stroke required.

Why did I make the change? I putt fine with the Scotty. I just wanted to try something new with the hope I could get better. It will be interesting to see how long I work with this thing.

2nd round today with the Evenroll. It went much better. I am getting more in rhythm with the feel and I must admit it does roll more smoothly. It goes end over end right off the clubface. No scoot and roll like the Scotty. I like it so far. The feel is becoming familiar as I use it. I feel like I can be better with this putter, but time will tell.
