Wilson 2024 new staff blade/cb, dynapower forged, staff wedges, staff balls

Can't say enough about how well the Wilson Dynapower TI has been for me in the bag. 

 

Have been looking at a combo set of 4-6 CB's and 7-PW in the MB's from Wilson. In my own opinion some of the better looking clubs available. 

 

Have been already testing with the prior gen Staff Model Blade and has been giving me very consistent #'s while being paired with a DG x100 shaft. Truly am excited to test the new ones when they release and order myself a set. 

 

Currently have a Titleist TMB 3 iron in the bag as well that after testing my get swapped out for the Utility from Wilson or maybe even another offering from Wilson.

The Staff Utility is a monster…I can’t hit the kbs tour graphite so I use Recoil Dart 75. I can hit the 18/21 pretty dang well with that shaft…the 18* is a beast off the tee, too! What shaft did you get in the Dynapower driver?

As a guy who has been a sales reo in the sporting goods industry and sold a ton of licensed apparel, that makes no sense.

You need a logo, not logos.(Shield with, Shield without and Wilson script) Please Wilson, get this right.

Those were a set of D7 Forged with kbs tour $-taper lite I had in 3-PW for a while…I could whale on those things and hit long irons like I did when I was a lot younger. They had just a touch too much offset so I’d hook them every once in awhile. I like the D9 Forged profile much better…the Staff CB even more, but I would need to play 3x a week to be really proficient with them and I don’t have the time for that anymore. That 8802 is an amazing flat stick on fast greens…I had it bent 2* upright and used it quite a bit at Chambers Bay, Tumble Creek, TPC Snoquamie Ridge, Sahalee, and a couple of others around Tacoma/Seattle while I was stationed at McChord AFB.

I do like the staff utility I'd love to play it in a 3 iron no doubt. Can't use the standard shaft myself. At the moment my TMB has a Tour AD DI in it and has been a monster off the tee.

 

For the Dynapower I use a HZRDUS black rdx and it's been pretty solid off the tee. Only don't use it on very tight holes and lay ups

These are the primary stock shafts to consider if you are interested in the Dynapower or Carbon drivers…they are all alternative stock shafts with no upcharge. 
 

RDX Red 60g 5.5 flex, 4.5 torque 

RDX Red 60g 6.0 flex, 3.5 torque 

RDX Black 60g 6.0 flex, 3.5 torque 

RDX Black 60g 6.5 flex, 3.5 torque 

RDX Black 70g 6.0 flex, 3.5 torque 

There is also a RDX Black 60g 5.5 flex, 4.0 torque and a 70g 6.5 flex, 3.5 torque but those would be for extreme cases.

What’s the red/black kick point difference?  Played hzds enough years to forget what’s in the bag, need to look in the bag but I like the way the fit my game.

Black is low launch/low spin, Red is mid-mid high launch/med spin. Both have the hexcel fiber technology…they are really great shafts and are the real deal, they do not make a “made for Wilson” version like the Ventus.

I see that now in your picture!  Going to take a look at mine as I’m curious. Not red that I do know. Black/grey 70g and never never deliver an odd result.  Very accurate and allow you to play different ball flights when the shot is needed.  Wilson Staff driver and fairways have been on my list all summer to give a good demo run.  Every time I say that my current whips deliver a critical shot and I put it off.  Funny game golf.

I’ve done several fittings with players having swing speeds from 115-125mph and they were getting ideal numbers with either the Black RDX 70g 6.0 or 60g 6.5…launch angle under 15* and spin in the “ideal” window of 24-2700 rpm using Chromesoft X/LS balls. How many WRX members really need a 7.0 shaft or is that a new version of the “vanity handicap?” Project X offers a TX in both the 60/70g…Wilson might have that in their tour van but not for commercial sale.

Could very well be; but when you’re a club fitter you hear more 🐂💩 from customers than a pornstar in a NYC bar. Example:

The ones that I love hit 5 or 6 drives with their driver to get a baseline.  Trackman has them all 212 to 220 with a 90 mph swing.   They say the Trackman is off. They always hit it 250 to 260 and their swing speed is 100 mph.   😬😬

Ain’t it the truth?! I always tell them it’s a 90% solution, but they act like it’s written in stone. One of my coworkers has a great acronym for these situations: LOFT…Lack Of F€£¥ing Talent 🤣🤣🤣

I believe they are sticking with Recoil Dart 75. However, you can get Steelfibre in several weights through custom orders, as well as Recoil Dart 65/95/110.

Wilson has introduced a lot of apparel over the last year or so. I am curious if there will be more golf specific clothing and if so will they use the W/S logo. Seems like they are trying to take their best shot to be gain some share.

Yes, in stiff & regular flex. Recoil Dart 95 is also available in regular flex but that would be an upcharge.

I have heard their boutiques are doing quite well in the locations they’ve opened so far. The only clothing I’ve seen is on their website, they do have an extensive tennis wear line but I haven’t seen anything golf centric yet. It seems the golf tee is making a comeback (nicer golf shirt with a dress shirt collar like Arnie always wore). Might be something new for spring around the first of the year.

That's what I see too. I have been in two of the stores. Really well merchandised. Golf makes sense in these locations. They are in tourist areas. The kind of places folks with money go. I am not one of those people but I know some.
