Wilson 2024 new staff blade/cb, dynapower forged, staff wedges, staff balls

Wilson will offer three new iron sets for 2024; a new staff model blade and cb iron set with dynamic gold mid 115 as the stock shaft for spring 2024 (probable February release). Both irons with have the same specs so they can be built in a combo set at any point in the progression if desired. The new Dynapower Forged will have the kbs tour lite as the stock shaft and is slightly sleeker than the current D9 Forged…it’s absolutely gorgeous! The new staff wedges will offer what appears to be three sole grinds with the same lofts as this year’s models but with the dynamic gold tour issue spinner as the stock shaft. The heads are more substantial than the current offerings and the toe has a swirling pattern similar to Cleveland’s wedges. There will be no change to the duosoft or triad ball, but the staff model is getting a substantial makeover and split into two new models. The Staff X is a four piece ball that will be a bit firmer than the current model and the Staff will be a softer four piece ball…in fact it felt similar to triad but with a higher trajectory and more short game spin. There are a wide variety of custom shaft options for the irons & wedges; everything from steelfiber and recoil dart, to most flavors of dynamic gold/kbs tour/modus/project x. I currently play kbs $-taper 110 in the D9 Forged and cannot wait to get a set of the new Dynapower Forged with the same shaft…very sexy offerings coming down the pipe from Wilson. The new Wilson script on the staff model balls is a result of discussions with the tour staff. Wilson has the largest professional sports player advisory team in the industry and the tour staff wanted their equipment to basically say team Wilson…which to me indicates there may be some cross marketing somewhere down the road. 2024 is gonna be a very good year.

Still not sure what I think about the logo with no W/S on it.  I like a cleaner look, but this almost looks unfinished.

 

Glad they are adding some grind options for the wedges.

I was impressed with the new softer staff model, it’s very strong off the irons, utilities, and three wood. On the driver I need to play it a bit more.

Haven’t seen the specs yet, but should be combinable with a little tweak here and there. I built a set early this year with 18/21 staff utility irons, 5-7 D9 Forged, and 8-PW staff cb…just had to tweak the lofts a degree or two.

No, that is an earlier prototype from before the final production change.

Oh very cool thanks for the heads up! Excited to try some Wilson gear this year. Hopefully some of the wedge grinds are available for us lefties but I won’t hold my breath lol.

This year Wilson offers a 52/56/60 in LH staff models, they could potentially add to that for next year.

Do the dyna power forged have power holes? Do they have same specs as D9 forged?

I only saw the 7 iron, but I was told the power holes are about the same and loft/lie should be similar…the D9 Forged 7 iron is already four degrees stronger than the current staff cb.

Yeah, Wow, the stuff is absolutely raging!  Love love love the new look of the cavity back!  And soooo glad the staff blade is a continuation of the current stunner.  I was on the range this morning with my current model staff blades and the miura set I have.  Have not played the miura's since the staff b's arrived a couple months ago.  Side by side comparison for the first time today.  It is just amazing how good the Staff Blade is.  Better distance, height, better apogee, better at address.   I've been in shock for two months at the performance.  Best secret in golf for my game.  Loves me some Wilsons!

@Orchardist I was able to get an order in through 2nd swing on the current Staff Blades and will likely offload my gently used Miura MC501 set at this point. Love the MC501 but I just prefer the shape of the Staff Blade. Which Miuras were you hitting alongside your Wilson's?

In 45+ years of golf I have never ever had an issue with glare off a polished chrome iron & I’ve played 100+ rounds a year for the past 30 years.

@67VIP - do you have insights into how Wilson hits swing weights on over length builds?  I was able to verify they don’t offer lighter heads - but they did say they can maintain swing weights on over length builds.

Never ever looked at Wilson clubs before, but I'm fully engaged in getting a set of the Staff blades and/or combo with the Staff CB.  Read too many good things about the blades not to give them a go.  Only thing that puts me off on the CB is all the stuff I've read about the current model rusting.  Maybe the new version will have addressed that issue.

Those posts online on the Wilson website are all from the same dingleberry…I’ve sold numerous sets of them and never seen one rust. Now if you leave them in the back of your truck or cold clammy garage up north and they get wet and you don’t wipe them down…of course they will rust. So will any other carbon steel club.

There are several ways of weighting the clubs…lead tape, weight down the shaft, lighter grips, etc. The swing weight on the website is with stock length/shaft/grip…any change to any of those three components alters swing weight. Adding one wrap of grip tape alters swing weight, mid size grips/ultra light grips, etc. Don’t get wrapped around the axle on that issue, build your set the way you want and go tee it up.

+1.   The satin finish on the current staff wedge I have is not at all inspiring to me.  Loved the heavy chroming on wedges of the past.  Here's looking to you Cleveland!

I also wish they had a small head option wedge.  But I'll be happy if they can pick up some market share at this point on their superb iron line.  Three different people looked at mine on the range today.  None of them had anything to say or any real questions.  They kind of looked at the clubs and the ball flight and walked away.  Like what they were seeing didn't register.  That being said playing two-three times a week all summer I have seen One wilson club in someone's bag.  A 30year old putter a friend plays.  Such a shame.

I play a lot of public golf with complete strangers and usually get compliments on my shiny D9 Forged irons…usually quite positive, but there’s always that one guy. I get some conversation about my Dynapower Carbon driver as well, but usually the biggest surprise is that I play a Wilson ball (triad). I love telling people I haven’t played prov1 in twelve years (while holding a 5 handicap). I played TP5 until two years ago, triad ever since. The new softer version staff model is intriguing…

101, and a couple of 5005's which look like shovels compared to the Staff B's.  Of course this only relates to my eye and feel.  I always loop back to how good the staff's are.  They were game on out of the box where most irons I usually have to wine and dine for a while.
