Driver: Buy now or wait?

I'm selling my SIM 2 later today.  I am honestly not planning on playing much if any the rest of this season here in PA.  I have an opportunity to grab a Rad XB driver at a STEAL of a price.  It has a proper shaft for me and everything.  My question for the group though.  Should I grab the XB (I really like the look, shaft, etc) or wait for the possibility of PXG having their clear out holiday season sale as they had last year.  I'm looking for best bang for my buck.  The Cobra checks the boxes, however being able to buy a brand new PXG at Rockbottom prices like they had last year is tempting too...

Thoughts?

I'd want to try the Cobra just because of the hype I've heard about them over the last couple years. If you're getting it for a great price, it should be fairly easy to flip for minimal loss if you decide to grab something from PXG, right?

How low were PXG prices last year? I was able to pick up my Tour Edge E722 driver for $185 on closeout and now I'm looking for a driver for my dad and would like to find a similar deal.

Ive had the same conversation with a friend about when to buy gear with it being the end of the year. I believe like most retail business, there are end of the year sales because they need to get rid of 2023 model inventory to make way for the 2024 stuff next spring, however he believes that doesnt exist. So my question is are we sure that end of year golf sales even exist and hypothetically you can get a $600 driver for $450 in November when 'last years model' goes on sale lol

If your confident the sale will happen, just wait. Golf is expensive, take advantage of every discount you can.

I should have thrown out that I do not remember the last time I purchased an actual new club from a store.  maybe a putter or wedge YEARS ago.  I'm a trader, swapper and ebay shopper.

I agree with this completely. You might just kick yourself in the butt if the sale doesn't come, or its not as good as you were hoping for.

This is really a choice you have to make, but based on what you've shared.

If the Cobra checks all the boxes for you, how many does the PXG?   What does it have (besides newer and shinier) that the Cobra doesn't?

If you wait on the PXG sale that doesn't come and the Cobra is gone, how will you feel?

If you get the Cobra, and the PXG sale happens, how will you feel?

A newer club isn't always better for you.

I'll leave "buy both" to others...

If you're looking for "best bang for buck", there's killer deals out there if you know where and what to look for.

I bought a Mizuno ST-Z 220 head and then purchased a Lin-Q Purple shaft for it - paid maybe $170 total for this combo.

Lots of great deals out there right now, and there will be in the future as well.

I'm actually currently debating what I like the look of better, the Mizuno or the Cobra (blue one)

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
