Odyssey Ai-ONE: the real deal..?

Went into my local golf store and (regrettably for my wallet) they had the whole line up of AI putters. Spent about an hour trying all different styles and went in thinking the no.1, double wide, jailbird mini CH or spider tour x would be the one.

 

I came out with the double wide CH cruiser. Wow this thing is stable and I love the long 38” grip. The insert feels soft when compared to my blade and Scotty 5.5, and I’m liking it. At home now putting side by side with my other putters I can’t believe how stable it is, in a good way.

 

What also persuaded me to get the cruiser is that I don’t have anything like it in my small collection. I have 2 blades, a spider EX and Scotty 5.5. The cruiser double wide CH offers something completely different and I want to try to stick with it to see what happens.

 

Ive also realised that the CH plumbers neck is something that is really good for my stroke. A mix of the full offset and right amount of toe hang makes it a great feature for my putting stroke.

 

Lets see if this thing makes more putts and more lag putts tomorrow

Anyone feel like these putters show a lot of loft?  I got a two ball double bend ai one and it looks like a ton of loft.  I called them up and they are going to send me a replacement that hopefully looks better but heard that they are getting some complaints that the contrast of the insert and the finish color makes it appear like there is a ton of loft.  They also said they do not adjust lofts even when special ordered that way.

yes I noticed this. For me I like it as I have a forward press so works well with that.

Went into Golf Galaxy the other day to trade in my White Hot OG 7 DB for a Jailbird Cruiser DB because there was an Odyssey trade in bonus and I also have a gift card. As a lefty it's my only option for the Cruiser and it's not in store for me to try.

 

I had done the trade in and was about to order when I saw a left handed 35" 7 S. I never really got along with my 7 DB but the 7 S felt great, just point and shoot and I really liked the line on top instead of the 3 dots. Alignment also felt a lot more comfortable with the slant neck instead of the double bend. I probably would have walked out with it but my curiosity about the JB Cruiser is too strong so I ordered that.

 

Going to go back and try them out side by side later this week and will have a tough decision to make.

When I bought my double wide it looked like a lot of loft on it. I had it checked and it was little over 4 when stock should be 3. Had to have them bend it to where I like it.

Ended up going with the 7S, I really wanted to like the Jailbird but it just wasn't for me. It really came down to the neck and alignment more than the weight. I really like the slant neck and sightline on the 7S. I think if you like double bend putters you'd like the Jailbird.

I’ve putted with probably 30 different models over the past couple weeks. Looking to finally switch from a TM spider I’ve been using for 4 years. I can honestly say I preferred the feel of the AI’s over anything. And I absolutely hated the way the White hot OG felt, a take my own ball srixon z star diamond to make sure the feel is spot on. Loved the jailbird mini and ai 7 DB.

It’s 100% legit. Kicked my gamer Taylormade TP collection Juno out that has been in my bag since it came out. Ended up in the Rossie S and it is money!

I noticed this when I first saw them in stores. Many of them seemed pretty high lofted when rolling them. I remember thinking I could see so much of the insert.
