Odyssey Ai-ONE: the real deal..?

I rolled a Jailbird mini today. Shop only had one in stock, it’s nice, really nice. But I also rolled a milled 7 CH. I fully expected the white insert to be softer, but on center strikes, the milled was superb to me. Off enter gave feedback but did hold a nice line. 
 

By the way, milled is dark blue, nearly black, standard is dark blue. Both finishes are solid.

I played Odyssey putters for many many many years. Then early last year I switched to a Taylormade X Hydroblast. Initially I had some good success with it and sold off my former Odyessey Ten 2 Ball stick. But eventually the feel just felt a bit off to me, and gradually, maybe it was an in the head thing, my putting slipped. Near the end of the year I started playing around with the new Odyssey Ai-One Rossie at my local golf shop’s putting green. The former Odyssey confident feel and roll came back so I bought it, slapped a Super Strole Flatso 3.0 grip on it and am anxious for the season to start. I’m confident I’m going to love it and I’ll promise Odyssey here and now I’ll never stray again. Worst case,  if the Ai-One lets me down I’ll go out looking for my old Odyssey Ten.

Really tempted by the jailbird mini CH. sadly where I am there is nowhere to roll one and it’s pre order only.

 

Anyone know how this would compare to something like the Scotty X5.5?

Notice the “cruiser” stamp on the bottom. The regular DB doesn’t have that.

tried the mini Jailbird today. Preferred the CH, thing was super easy to aim. Size of the head is so much better than the Jailbird 380. The blue is also not really noticeable and you could have told me it was black and I'd believe you.

 

I'm still iffy on the insert. The fell is hard to describe as it's not soft like a white hot, but has a little clicky sound to it. I'll probably wait till the cruiser line comes out to try all of them, but I love the versa for aiming and will probably pick one of them in the lineup soon.

Where do you find the estimated ship date? I ordered mine January 25th and says "2-3 weeks backorder" in my order details

I ordered my JB Mini CH through Golf Galaxy: ordered 2/4, shipped 2/9, and received 2/10.

 

Rolled indoor so far, sits really nice and I like the weight and feel. Going to be a tough call between the mini, the 380, and the Scotty 7.2… 🤔

I've sen pics of the 3T milled model with a double bend shaft at Riviera, but retail only comes in the short slant neck.  

 

Does anybody know if the double bend will be offered to the public?

Ok - I can’t speak to the CH version. I have the AI One double bend Jailbird mini and it beat out a Taylormade Spider GT and a AI One 7s and Milled CH 7. The Jailbird just sets up nice behind the ball, love the three dots on the top, the jailbird paint scheme looks nice at address. The tech has worked for front back dispersion. When I roll it, it stops where I expect it. Just FYI, I’m in the North, only sim and carpet rolls so far. But the vibe is good.

If you use it, take off the wrapper, then you only get store credit to spend on other Callaway purchases.  That's why I left the shrink wrap on mine and putted with it, to the chortles and smiles of my group.  Didn't work and I got a full refund to my credit card.

I just bought a 3t milled DB at a PGASS in Arizona. I went in to by the Jailbird mini and while it does feel good, the paint looked hokey on the one I tried and the 3t is just too damn sexy to pass up. The cost is dumb but here we are.

Since the Ai line of putters came out, I keep trying the 2-ball. The feel is exceptional and I really like the alignment line they put through the balls. I finally bought one today. I’m headed to Palm Springs on Saturday for a week. We’ll see how it goes.

I own the 2ball as well.  I’m really impressed with it.  I couldn’t agree more with you about the feel and the alignment line.
