I think this white hot insert barely feels like the normal white hot insert. It’s quite a bit firmer. Myself and a few of my co-workers have all noticed that this line is really hot off the face. I’d like to think that it’s intentional and part of the design in not having any dead spots on the face but it can certainly be an adjustment at first.

I would completely agree with the comparison to the White Hot insert, especially to the Versa from last year.

I like the feel of this insert a little better.  With the Versa, I had a lot of trouble figuring out where I was hitting it on the face because it was too soft, especially when I was using it with a Chrome Soft X.

Does anyone have insight on the AI One insert v White Hot insert? Similar feel? I have always been a White Hot guy. I did feel the Tri Hot felt a little more solid, almost a milled feel, than a traditional White Hot.

Just got a Versa White Hot #1. Coming next week. I will dabble with a AI One Double Wide CH this season but need that White Hot feel

I would say the AI White Hot is even firmer than the Tri-Hot. Very solid feeling. Almost doesn’t feel like a White Hot insert at all to me.

Odyssey 30g vs 20g shaft weight.

Weights in the Ai-One come out with a normal torque wrench. Mine are 15g weights. They are a larger diameter than previous Odyssey weights.

What is the stock total weight of these putters coming in at?  Like for a 34"...still around 540g give or take?  Curious how their new steel stroke lab shaft with small counterweight compares to the old multi-material with large counterweight.

I didn’t check.  I believe they are supposed to be roughly the same weight.

The Ai-One shaft is all steel but only 90g as I understand it.

The Ai-One has a 20g weight in the shaft.

The Tri-Hot 5K’s have had 30g weights as I believe the red Stroke Lab shaft is only 70g.

Odyssey Ai-One #7 CH is 34” - 514g w/ Superstroke Zenergy Tour 2.0 and no countercore weight.

Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K #7 DB is 34” - 492g w/ same grip and no extra weight

Tri-Hot grip is 75g and had a 30g weight in the shaft

Superstroke Zenergy Tour 2.0 grip weighs 55g

Ai-One did not have the factory grip as I bought it used so I don’t know weight on it. It did have a 20g weight in the shaft.

I play both with a 25g countercore weight in the grip.

Comparing the #1 models, why did they put a flange line on the $300 version and a top line on the $450 version?

These are very philosophical questions only Immanuel Kant or Mother Teresa can answer, and they're both dead.

Which do you like better?

My guess (philosophical, of course) is the $300 version is aimed at us amateurs.  And the short line on the $450 version is what the tour pros would prefer.

Does anyone know when they will release the weight kits for these? Originally they said December but we’re almost through with no sign of them.

It wouldn’t be the first time for putter weight kits to be announced, then only see a tour only or very limited release.

I would limit expectations, and be pleasantly surprised if they are widely available.

Prob need to do more searching here but I just got an AI milled 1 comparing to a tri hot 2 and the feel of club and shaft is completely different with the new stroke lab putter.  I much prefer the feel of the old red stroke lab shaft to the new one.

I know they changed the weight by 20g But seems like the feel is very different as well

anyone have experience with other after market shafts with similar feel to stroke lab

I actually like top line better, but am FAR from pro.  But I'm cheap and would prefer it on the $300 version anyway.

No prize for being richest man in the cemetery!!

i just got the AI 1 and love the line up top vs behind the face.  I also use alignment line on ball for all of my putts, feels so much more comfortable standing over it.  Haven’t been able to play a round yet though 🤷‍♂️

Question for everyone who has purchased A.I putters

Have we seen an improvement in the inserts being installed to the face?

Several models at different stores nearby continue to have inserts with a prominent raised edge in spots.

Let’s hope they get this issue resolved in the February batch!  I’m waiting until then to buy the Ai 7 DB.   The face feels hot on the Ai.  I tested out the Ai 1 and Ai double wide today vs the 5 K -7.    I did not notice any issues on the faces of either Ai putter I tried today.

Fair enough. Appreciate you're thoughts.

I can't say with confidence it's drastic enough to even see negative results.

The simple test of running a finger over the edges on some of them and seeing how are out they are, gives me the "heeby jeebies"

I agree with you.  To drop that kind of money on something and there are issues.  Odyssey needs to get on that.  I’ll be inspecting my putter closely before I buy it.

Callaway/Odyssey has a great return policy to fix possible issues like these.

It is.  I don’t think I will ever get rid of it.  I can’t count the number of putters that have been in and out of my bag since I have had it.  The V-Line always finds a way back into my bag.

The Ai-One White Hot is a serious contender in the basement.  It will be a few months before I can actually try it on a green and in a round to see how it actually performs when it counts.

The milled Ai-One is gone as I did not care for the feel or sound.  I preferred the overall look but after so many years of a White Hot insert I am so used to the sound and feel that anything else has to be a significant improvement to move to something else.

Intrigued by the milled 7 coming from a Toulon Las Vegas, though I may still prefer the LV’s slant neck.

A bit disappointed in:

1. The mystery weight kit release ‘sometime in December’ which has one day left in it.

2. Some info and availability of the bi-matrix shaft, which (I think?) is the traditional stroke lab shaft, but with a blue carbon portion? Details are fuzzy on this and I’ve only seen it one one shop’s configurator - and not Odyssey’s.

I can’t help but feel that releasing so many models was a bit too ambitious to also have the custom components ready. It’s a bit of a confusing if not somewhat bungled release, though the people that have their chosen putter seem pleased and I don’t doubt the technology. Maybe these components are at fitting locations?
