Has anyone put one of the AI blade versions into their bag?

Really interested to hear feedback from blade putters, as most of the attention is going jailbird and mallets.

Interesting you should ask.  I've had the Odyssey DoubleWide DB Ai ONE (blade) since early November.  It did as promised in terms of putting length consistency.  But it never putted lights out... for me.  Guess I'm more of a mallet guy.  So just an hour ago I hit up the local golf store and scored a Jailbird Mini CH Ai ONE.  It'll be in the bag for tomorrow's morning round.

How do the Stroke Lab weights come out of the end of the shaft?  Heat and pull?

Debating nibbling .5” off my putter when I regrip it.

Remove the grip and then you will see the weight in the butt end. The weight just pops out. It’s got two rubber gaskets that keeps it in place in the shaft.  Used a pair of pliers and pull it out.

How does the CH sit vs the DB version to your eye? I went back to GG to roll these again & I noticed that both cruiser and std length DB versions looked like they sat open to me. The std length was a 33" so I didn't think too hard about that... could be a length thing throwing me off. I wished there was a CH version to compare to.

Interesting, for me the CH seems to sit a little more square... though I prefer the cleaner look of the double bend.

Love the looks of the 1 CH with the minimal sightline.   Why don’t more OEMs offer an Anser 2 style with either a sight dot or small sightline 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Wyndham Clark had the sight line removed on his putter. He putts okay.

I went to Dick’s on my lunch hour Monday. I wanted to finally try a Jailbird. I didn’t really care for it. Tried a Ai-one 7 db and couldn’t miss with it. I loved the feel and normally don’t like inserts. All of my putters are milled or solid faced. Tried the same putter in the Ai milled and actually liked the WH better. I’ll go back tomorrow and see how it works a 2nd time.

I also play milled putters mostly and thought I’d love the milled version of the 7 CH but it was a bit too firm for my liking. I went with the WH insert version of the 7 CH and love it.

I rolled a few at the store and, while I really like the feel and roll, I have no business even looking at putters right now.  Zero.  Zilch.

So I'll probably buy one really soon.......

And that’s why I shouldn’t go back today

I'm right there with you.  I have two putters that I know from a fitting at ECPC fit me perfect and roll the ball true.

I agree.  I normally don’t love inserts, and compared to my Tri Hot 5K, dare in say the AI-One flirts with feeling “milled”.  It’s soft, but much more firm than I was expecting.

So I went back today and putted well with it again. Then the guy working there said "Hey I think we've got some other new 7 style putters in back that just came in". Came out with a '24 Scotty Phantom 7.5. I putted just as well with it and really did like the feel of it better. I've played face balanced for about 8 years now. Maybe a little toe hang might help. My stroke is pretty much SBST. But I know there's some arc regardless. And no, I've never had a putter fitting.

All I came here to add is that the Bi Matrix SL 70 shaft is worth the $50. The manager at my store came over with his milled #7 and I was immediately in love. First putt. I had the 7 CH Milled but got rid of it due to it feeling a bit too firm for my liking. I’ve got the Ai-One 7 CH but with the WH insert. Yeah, I instantly put in an order. Ball was rolling so quick on its line and the feel was so good. I can’t get over how much better the milled 7 CH feels. I can’t wait to get it in.

I like at least a couple of these putters particularly the Ai-One Milled Eight T Putter. Surprised at the lack of options in terms of shaft choice, length, sightline etc. It's a real pity there is no option to build your own configuration seems like a glaring omission.

I did a fitting about a month ago and wanted a tune up on my TM Juno TP collection I’ve had since it came out. I was dead set on a Spider X Tour x3 had success with the past X models but the Juno always kept its place in the bag. To my surprise the best fit for me was an Odyssey AI One Rossie S in 35” (longer than my Juno) and my usual 2* flat. The Odyssey allowed me to slow my putting tempo down and allow me to start the ball online better and more consistently.

I was fit at 2nd swing in their putter fitting studio and couldn’t argue with the numbers and feel. Starting line is a big one for me when putting.

My fitter even adjusted my gamer to the same specs (loft was 3* too high) and added a counterweight to my super stroke grip for free. Happen to have one sitting in the studio randomly.

Ended up shooting a +5 75 today. It was the first round with the Jailbird Cruiser and I had 29 putts. I’ll take it! I made some really good ones and the ones I missed were just misread. I’m really pleased with it. Speed control was spot on and I hit just shoot every line I looked at.
