Inconsistent shoe sizes

What ever happened to quality control. I finally find a pair of extra wide golf shoes that fit and figure I'll order a second pair since they are so hard to find. Same company, same shoe, same size and they hurt like bloody hell just putting them on. In prior years I was able to order my size no problem, now I have to order 1/2 size above, 1/2 size below and my size. I feel like Goldilocks. Is it just me or does everyone have this issue?

Are they Footjoys?

This go round was Skechers, prior attempt was Footjoy.

Not unusual for specific model/style of clothing to duplicated  in various factories globally.  With varying results , fit, material, quality etc. 

First I’ve heard of it with shoes, but given it’s sketchers, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Beginning of last year I tried Footjoy Pro SL in various sizes and came away with nothing. I wear an extra wide and have to replace the insoles with my orthotics. If it weren't that I play early while the ground is still damp I would just wear my sneakers and give up on golf shoes. Thought about Squairz but they say they are only comparable to 2E width not 3E.

This is almost with every brand unfortunately and can either make one fall in love with a brand 1 time or instantly hate them from the start. 

 

This goes for clothing as well unfortunately, I've gotten some tiny and giant clothes with the same size tags I always order.

Yep…shirts…slacks…shoes…gloves. Can’t buy them without trying them on these days.

I had the same issues. I’m an XW too and went to New Balance, which have been great!

Eccos are no different. Funny thing is I gave up on Eccos and went to Skechers. Skechers are as comfortable if not more than Eccos at half the price. 

My most recent go round with Eccos. One model in my size just right. One model to big. The other model to tight. I never care for with Ecco you take the insole out to make the shoe wide. My favorite pair of Eccos are tight but when I take the insert out they fit just right but then they are not as comfortable because you just took the insole out.

 

So far I haven't had a problem with sizing with Skechers within the same model.  Skechers have different cuts. I know one model my not be the same fit as another. I bought two pairs of the same golf shoes Christmas 22' and both pairs fit the same, are very comfortable and have been holding up well. I bought those shoes in wide. 

 

I was at a golf store back in November and saw a pair of Skechers I liked for a Christmas 23' present. I am glad I tried them on. I tried on the wides first and they were huge. There is no way I could wear them. I tried on the regulars and the fit like my older Skechers in wide. My wife grabbed the shoes online when they went on sale and the pair I received fit like the pair I tried on.

 

I don't think you can count on anything fitting right or the same now days. I try on as many things as possible before I buy. Clothes are terrible.

How have they held up? I frequently play in damp conditions and have concerns about shoes being waterproof. Which model in New Balance?

They have been great. Actually first pair I tried, Fresh Foam Contend, I took to Ireland and kept my feet perfectly dry and also had great grip. They aren’t the best looking shoes, but they fit great, have good support, and are comfy.

Pretty much all clothes nowadays for me. I have to try everything on, or buy from amazon since their returns are so easy now. 
I have pretty wide feet, and found the new balance shoes to be nice. Fit is good, and really comfy. The insert in them is really nice. Wish they would put it in their basic shoe line.
