yes. i was going to say grip too, but afraid i might have explain why. 🙂

i would say shaft affects swing and dead weight more than "softer feel."

It can but also if there is less vibration then there is a softer feel because sound is a vibration. It may not be much it may be the exact same pitch/sound at contact but could sound softer as it doesn't vibrate as much or as long.

I don't get why or how people dismiss shafts so much especially on putters they are a factor.

probably because the shaft does not strike the ball. reduced vibration doesn't mean there was a softer impact, only that you don't feel it as much.

kinda pedantic, but it's damping vibration to the hands, but impact could still be hard. what feel are we talking about?

i guess it depends on your definition of "soft feel."

It doesn't but it's a timing device and if someone can time their stroke better with a graphite shaft then they'll see better results. Same reason why there are hundreds of driver and iron shafts the user has to find what times up best. It's also not like Ping just tossed in these for no reason, remember Karsten's with clubs would only add something if it was better or could see benefits from it.

What other feel is there? Sound is feel if there is less vibration there is less sound. Hit an aluminum baseball bat against a wall and your ears will ring and hands vibrate, hit the same wall but with a thick foam pad, it will still go thud but you won't get the vibration and your ears and hands are safe. It's not massive differences just small ones but the sound part isn't the main factor in graphite shafts it's the lower torque and better face control.

it's all subjective until it's tested without people. particularly the torque idea. i like data.

companies will offer clear shafts filled with water and tiny plastic seahorses in them if enough people will buy it, thinking it will improve the karma and transcendental frequency of putting. 😉

So far, so good. Softer feel than my Scotty and Bettinardi MC-3 but that might be the shaft.

Seems like a good mix of blade / mallet. Only a couple rounds in with it.

Still unsure if I like the grip - its kind of triangular and I like to keep an index finger down and it feels a bit odd since that finger is no longer square to target.

Might switch it out to a pistol, idk.

Glad to hear that you like it. I have a New Ping PP58 Tour L grip waiting to go on.
