It's the same as any other Tour Only... I have 2 sets, because I live between 2 countries for the most part, so I justified getting 2x Super Rats, because I like their aesthetic best. I am lucky that they're also some of the less expensive ones (at least compared to 009 prices)

 

Overpaid like crazy for both though, about 2x/2.5x retail. Feels less bad when I game them at least

Yes, a good example.  I’ve got this OG Slighter mod X5 from when JT first started.  It’s maybe 7 years old and it was my gamer for a long time.  I threw it back in the bag after watching Max at Augusta.  It saw some practice time at the range. 
 

The 009 is back now.  Cooler heads prevailed.  Signature updated.

I had a 009 years ago. Beautiful putter but I couldn’t get over the fact I was putting with a 3500(back then) putter. So I sold it for a good profit and moved on. Putt a lot with Bettinardi Hive putters now as the cost isn’t as high but quality is better in my opinion. To this day though that 009 was the best looking putter I think I’ve ever rolled

Not that long ago (well I guess pre COVID now), the prices were actually reasonable

I keep on saying it will calm down, but it doesn't seem to

I do think they're great putters, but man, even at retail price, they're super pricey

This topic comes up all the time . .there isn't an on course related reason to own any 009. Any boutique guy can make exactly what you want for significantly less. 

 

People buy them for the name...for the collection...for whatever else.

Ehhh sure, makes a ton of sense if ppl want/desire an 009 solely for the design/function. But like with most in this category, that’s typically not the case. Cars, art, watches, guitars etc.
