I game Artisan 0521 and just tried out the new 2024 BB1 Wide and it feels very similar in weight and head size. If you are used to BB1 I know that you'd enjoy the 0519/0521 series from Artisan for sure! And yes, be careful with the wedges and irons... i was able to walk away from the wedges and irons, but i did end up with two putters....😅

Ok so I come here to confess that while I stated my intention to buy an Artisan 0519 (which I remain committed to), I have been testing my current BB1 with 20g counterweight to see if that opens the opportunity for additional head weight. I'm liking what I'm feeling so far and may have ordered a BB1W from Discount Dan's and a cheap new Stability One shaft on eBay, which I should receive both and build next week for additional testing...

 

This is all in the ultimate goal of determining final ideal specs for the Artisan. That's what I'm telling myself at least in rationalizing the BB1W haha. I will probably ultimately conclude that I don't like the sound slot pushing me to the Artisan. Cheaper than flights and hotel for the in-person fitting, right? Plus I know my iron specs and head weight preference well enough to order those on the phone and get myself in more trouble.

 

I do love the idea of what the Artisan team is doing in general especially with the fittings. There aren't many places you can go to work with people like them to help your game.

Bonus with Artisan can always order weights and even get the necks swapped. Just can't get alignments changed for obvious reasons

Exactly, that's part of what I'm trying to narrow down as well. Went into a deep dive on alignment based on tendencies, eye dominance, etc thanks to the following thread so want to spend some time testing that before deciding for the Artisan. For the most part I've always used blades with flange alignment lines.

 

I do really appreciate when putter manufacturers allow to change weights and necks but totally get why most don't. Just gives a lot more fitting options.

The aim and alignment part John can take care of even over the phone just ask @Phabs about that. Aim isn't too hard to figure out.

Maybe it's not wide enough for you but I tried the 2012 SC Select notchback some time ago and found it really nice.

 

Milled. But the neck/hosel thing might be an issue for you.

So after reading your first paragraph and nothing more, my first thought was Bettindari or Evnroll. I am similar that I like a wide blade, however I prefer face-balanced, and have an ER3 (Evenroll) and Tri5 Triple Wide, shocking I like the insert! and have never been a fan.

I like the scotty squareback 2; however not face-balanced.

Sounds like Artisan is a good option, but haven't been lucky to try one

Give the AI+77 Putter from Burke a look.  I'm using the red color and it's fantastic. They offer a ton of neck styles as well. Fully milled and with adjustable weights to get the head weight down to 340g.
