Anyone have the 2024 Wilson Staff CB irons?

I am a huge fan of Wilson Staff irons. I currently game a combo of V6 and Staff MB irons. I also have the previous version of the Staff CB irons that I play in combination with 2018 Apex MB irons (odd combo but it works really well). I would love to see comparison pictures of the 2024 Staff CB irons vs the previous CB and V6. Would also love to hear initial impressions of the irons. Thanks in advance.

I can't speak to the 24 model, but I had the last iteration, and before that, the V6s.

 

Feel is very close to the same; meanwhile, looks were completely different. The V6 long irons were butter knives, the CBs had a thicker top-line that were more inviting. The soles I would say were a little thicker with the newer CBs; but the blade length was shorter overall compared to the V6s.

 

From what I've seen of the new CBs, they're going to be made to blend with the blades a little more, so I think they're going to very much be an easy transition from V6s.

I was trying new irons in the shop and had hit the T200, Mizuno 245 and the new Wilson dynaforged, all with the same shaft. The fitter said try these and handed me the new CB , which look amazing, quite compact and with weaker lofts than the others matched them in all aspects. So they were very enticing.

So have we determined if the new CB blade length is the same as the previous or is it a touch longer to match the MB?

 

Remember the last generation the blade length of the Staff Model Blade was longer than the CB. I liked the blade length of the blade so I’m hoping Wilson changed the new CB to match. It was not a huge difference but it was enough to notice.

very interested to see this, I also preferred the touch longer MB look

I just picked up a set of the CBs after hitting them side by side with the MBs and a few others. CBs heads looked the same length as the MBs with a slightly thicker top line. Felt and looked better than everything else I tried and cost $100-$300 less. Everyone should be giving these a try.

I went full 3-p mb sight unseen. I think forgiveness is ample down to long irons and I love everything about them.

Congratulations! I’m jealous. Please share pictures and a review when you have time.

You are correct see pics below, V6 is a better match for the previous version of the MB. I’m hoping new CB will be more similar to the V6.

The V6: So good! More forgiving than it got credit for.

The blade heel to toe length is definetly longer than the cbs.  Hit both today.  Hit the blade 7i better then the cb but it was off mats.

Anyone able to comment on the performance of the new MBs and/or CBs to the previous gen? Any pictures of the new CB blade lengths compared to the prior gen? Disappointed by the paucity of reviews/tests of these so far available!

I hit both the STAFF MB & CB this past weekend.  LOVE the CB.  May be the True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 shaft, but the feel and yardages were fantastic.  I love the face/head shape.  Definitely on the shorter end heel to toe.  Looks great to me.  The MBs felt nice as well in a TT DG S300.  However, the CB sole is just a bit wider (front to back) and has more bounce which I need.  Very impressed!

 

May pull the trigger on the STAFF MB 5-GW.

I looked at them recently and I don’t remember thinking they were different blade lengths when comparing. They were pretty similar except the MB’s were much sleeker looking at top line down and had a narrower sole.  I walked away wanting the MB’s even though I should play the CB’s.

I finally had a chance to hit the new MB and CB. Both fantastic. And the CB blade length does look to be about the same as the MB, meaning they are a little longer than the prior gen CB. A good change for someone, like me, whose miss is toe side!

I just got a set —actually prefer the feel over my Mizuno 243 which I think I’ll sell after just a handful of rounds on them . Just need to get used to the loft difference

So funny... I just bought a set of CBs to replace my 245's. I am hoping that I made the right choice!

Finally tried the new 2024 Wilson Staff CB irons. They feel great like the 2021 CB irons, MB irons and V6 irons. Easy to hit with consistent numbers on the simulator. Very similar to the V6 irons in size and shape. Heel of the sole is a little wider. Good match for the previous MB or the new MB irons. New MB irons are almost identical in size and shape to the previous generation. Minor cosmetic updates.

I grabbed a set of the STAFF CB, 5-G.  May be more impressed with the True Temper DG Mid 115 S300 (what a mouthful).  I'm coming from Project X LZ 120.

 

I hope Wilson keeps it up.  They just need to release some woods that look like Martin Trainer's now.

Was at the PGASS a few days ago looking at all the newish non GI iron sets. Gotta say the new Staff CBs were my favorite based on looks/shape.
