Best feeling irons I’ve had in forever - and I’ve owned way too many!

I hit my buddies and just didn’t like them as much as the others I tried. Good clubs for sure.

Another day on the course and I can say the i230’s are making a charge from the middle of the pack. So predictable and consistent. Maybe the easiest to hit on a consistent basis and the long irons are much easier to handle.

If only the i230s didn't feel crummy at least IMO they might be the perfect iron. Had hoped the BPS would be that and while great it's certainly a bit smaller and at least somewhat more demanding.

I can agree with this. I230’s don’t feel as bad as the T150’s or p790’s IMO. The BPS are amazing if you are on, they can be tough if the swing isn’t on point. That’s my major concern. I play a lot of winter golf and don’t need more challenges during that time.

Be aware the Blueprint S is poor for distance. Feels great, looks great, goes nowhere compared to most rivals.

I don't even know where to begin with how inaccurate this statement is

About to wrap this up and a major surprise has happened. Played 2 9 hole rounds hitting nothing but irons with each set and was blown away by a set. Going to do a massive range session tomorrow and make the final call.

Guessing zx7. I’m blown away by the distance and feel from zx7. Nothing gives both like this iron. Was testing zx7 vs popular player distance iron and it was hanging shot for shot and felt amazing.

ZX7 is solid, but they are in the middle of the pack for me. I plan on using a ZX5 4 Iron if the current pick makes it through one more trial.

I snagged a set of zx7's off of BST, and they aren't going to knock the i230s out of the bag. i230s are predictable and forgiving for my most common low/heel miss. T150s or 245s will prob be next contenders but feels kinda pointless to tinker.

Funny you posted this, that’s my final 3

Did you make your final decision? I’ve been looking at a lot of the same irons, I’m stuck on the 245, i230, but can’t get the blueprint s out of my mind even though it’s a bit harder to hit. I currently have the 223 and really not a fan (gapping and turf interaction issues) and wanted a little more forgiveness.

Same here. I have the 223 and feel like i could use more forgiveness mist of the time. Would like to try the i230 but i feel like if i try them, its over!

Quick thoughts on all the sets:

As things stand now:

1) Blueprint S (going to take some special to knock them out)

2) ZX7 Mkii (would be tough to beat in most cases)

2A) i230 (just solid clubs)

3) Pro 245 (still has a chance)

4) P790 (just not for me)

5) T150 (so disappointed in the feel here)

What happened here? T150 last and now in Top 3...Who got to you Man? 😆

I like the BPS. Best feeling iron in my group. Also the most demanding. Swing needs to be on point.

Thats fascinating to me.

are you a relatively shallow aoa player?  I found the bps to be a extremely consistent across the face but I’m around 4 degrees down aoa.

the 150s seem to need almost a shallow, thin strike to get anything other than a high spinny flight.  It’s almost like the are meant to be hit on the first couple of grooves low on the face.

Anyone have gapping issues with the ZX7 in the short irons? Looking at them the PW is 46 deg, 9 41 deg, and 8 36 deg. Seems like a lot  of loft between clubs for what I'm used to. I've considered testing out a set to see how I get along with the v sole so curious what people think. Also considering testing out the BPS. Coming from T100 2019s (bent 1 deg strong) I just want something that spins less and launch lower. T150 just go way too high for me and PW is too strong at 44 deg.

I’ve hit a lot of ( and unfortunately owned) irons in the last 36 months.

zx7 were the lowest launching spinning for sure.  Felt great off mats, hated them off real turf.  No gapping issues.  If the sole and longer heel to toe length works for you, this is the answer.

the next batch that worked well were the cobra mb/cb, Wilson mb/cbs, and throwing bps.  All 5 of these iron sets flew and spun relatively low loft for loft (which I prefer).  Note the bps have the strongest lofts and the flew the farthest.  The Wilson’s have more bounce and would do better if you need to strengthen.  Cobras had less bounce and a flatter sole and maybe a touch higher spin.

the cobra tours, i230, t150s and p770 all kind of grouped together.  Launched higher and spun more with more ball speed.  This group actually carried the least for me due to higher spin and launch.

ZX7 are very love or hate because of the sole design imo.

Yup - couldn’t agree more.  They also have a longer heel to toe length and the hosel to face transition visually magnifies the offset a bit.

On the course I fought a thin strike and a unwanted draw with them.
