I want a simple, forged 57-59* wedge

I play Srixon irons and carry a Srixon Z765 AW which is 51* with maybe 8* of bounce. It's on a Modus 105 stiff shaft.

I have two Cleveland RTX6 wedges beyond the AW but the Srixon is my favorite wedge for chipping and pitching. It's just dead simple and it feels great.

I'd love to find a higher-lofted wedge with similar characteristics.

Srixon made a SW during the same era that was 57* with a similar sole design. I keep my eyes peeled for one of those but most of the ones that pop up on ebay are new old stock from Japan and priced accordingly.

So the prescription is: forged, clean blade-style design, relatively square leading edge, low bounce.

I see some of the DTC brands offering somewhat similar clubs. Is there anything I'm missing beyond that?

Mizuno T24 may work. They have the x grind and V. I know the v is high bounce but it has a ton of relief and doesn’t play like a normal high bounce.

I came from a vokey 60 L grind which is 4 degrees and playing the V grind  I would not have guessed the static bounce is 3x on the mizuno V grind.

Mizuno does still have the X grind with I think 6* bounce though if you really wanted the lowest bounce.

Very interesting that they don’t offer different soles or grinds. They have their standard grind that comes on all of the wedges. How does the sole play?

wilson staff wedges are forged - old models are cheap - and they are really good wedges

I noticed those and that's a real possibility, thanks.

I found a forged Bettinardi 58* on deep discount from Maple Hill ($80 brand new). Giving it a shot.

What I'm picturing in my head is something that seems trickier to find these days - a full sole and low bounce in a lob wedge.  I can think of a few older options that might work if you can find them used in good condition, but they may not be conforming.  The Mizuno MP T series is phenomenal and sounds right up your alley - they made full-sole 60s with 5 degrees of bounce, and older Ben Hogan lob wedges were forged, full soled, and low bounce, as well.  I'm also wondering about old Cleveland 588s and old Nike forged wedges, as well.

Amongst newer (and DTC brands), two that jump out to me are the Haywood Signature wedge and the Hogan Equalizer II wedge, but neither are low bounce.  The Hogan jumps out because it employs a V Sole that you might be familiar with from the Srixons.

Any aversion to going older?

Thanks. I tend not to buy used wedges because the condition can be an issue.

Mizuno T22 wedges (previous model) can be found new for less than $100 if you look around.
