They don't glare in the sun.  A lot of people will say that they spin more as well, but in my experience there really isn't a difference

Well, if you had a custom muscle car, or a chopper, old school truck - would you want it chromed out and shiny paint, or natural patina, murdered out with flat black, bright yellow or gold flake red etc.?

It's more just a preference. 

All forged irons are made from carbon steel. Same type of steel in Speith's putter as well as Tiger's (under the pro plat finish :))

You now have stripped away whatever finish is there, softer feel.

I have always loved raw irons and started with the MB2 Raws which I have owned over a dozen. 

Now I play raw Sub70's and v6's.

You also never get that worn rusty face from hitting range balls because the face is already raw.

That was my biggest preference because 10yrs ago all the OEM's has this weak satin finish for more feel and control after the groove changes which wore out super-fast and rusted out looking like shite.

Agree with above. The raw irons and wedges are super cool. I wish I could get my Wilson wedge in raw. As least in my iteration, they do have a slightly light and clicky feel - which apparently the ZM version has fixed. 

 

In any event, my real disappointment was with the TM woods in the bag. We've seen a few guys with the Wilson driver and FW's lately. 

 

Knowing the industry as I do, I am loath to think that the Wilson product is so far behind TM, etc. I feel the same way about Mizuno woods. I've played them, they work. 

 

So, why no tour presence? Seems like there has to be more at work here than simply performance.

What's the scoop on it I see lots in play out there in the 60*?  All I see is the 135 X flex too any reason for that and not the 125 S ?

The 125 Hi-rev is really soft and spins too much at times for me.  I have been using $ taper 125 and tour 125 but I wanted a little more feel in the clubhead and more weight.  I never considered the hi-rev for years because I didn't want added spin.  I can hit a full 56 or 60 and the spin is controllable.  LOVE the feel and it matches closer to my irons. It spins and launches the same for me and I can keep the flight down.  the heft of the shaft has been helpful as well.  its basically a heavy/xx kbs tour 130 8 iron cut to wedge length.

Compared to the S400 how does it feel?  See lots of those Modus Wedge shafts too.  I hit a Modus 115 and it felt stiff as hell.

this is a tough subject as its difficult to compare different profiles and peoples perceptions. KBS: its more heft/weight in the middle and butt compared to the S400 but a touch softer in the tip.  (were talking very slight differences in feel/ perception). KBS 135x is heavier but the balance point is a touch higher.  Its way stiffer and heavier than a modus 115 IMO but the tip/balance is different.  the kbs shaft is super stiff in the grip (rebar), x stiff in the middle and stiff in the tip.  its more like an x7 that is soft stepped twice IMO.  Its more like a modus 130x perhaps?  (don't know from personal experience)
