Long Ball for scramble

I am looking for a ball to use in a scramble that does not have a one ball rule. Need a no-spinner for maxium length off the tee. Will switch to a Pro-V1 after that.

Smart move switching up the balls like that. A lot of guys I play with in the scramble don't do that.

 

Use a Maxfli Noodle Longest or one of those newer Snake Eyes SDF (or something close to those letters). Those are my balls of the tee for the scramble I play in each Friday.

Callaway HX Hot or Titleist DT Solo would be my vote. Maybe some consideration for the long distance Pinnacle.....crap for spin, but a long ball

Callaway hot, and the freak are the longest balls I've hit. I'll have to see if my scramble this weekend will allow that, not sure if my work one does.

TaylorMade Burner (not the TP version) is deep off the tee as well!!! Longest ball I have seen tested off the robot.

I second that. I actually had myself fooled thinking I was hitting my irons longer but turned out it was the ball. VERY little spin. Long off every club.Went back to my old ball and lost that extra carry :good:

15-2 in The rules of golf says that you can change your ball any time you are permitted to lift your ball I.E. On the green, lift clean and place and in scrambles. Still have to check local rules to be sure, but the USGA Rules of Golf are on your side.

I played the freak and the E6+. The freak was easily 15 to 20 yards longer for me than the E6+. Neither of them stuck well on the greens but the freak was even more terrible. I don't think the distance gain is worth not being able to hold any greens, but for sure in a scramble :clapping:

Ok I just played in one today and used the Freak off the tee. It was pretty spectacularly long. I was swinging the driver today probably better than I ever have, so even with the normal ball (prov1x) I woulda been miles out, but the Freak was definitely longer. Ball just shot off the club and hung forever in the air and then released. Awesome performance off the tee. Will definitely use it again next time.

The underestimated Cally iX is currenlty the longest ball on my list after running the gambet failing to see a serious contender, the exception is that it spins just as much as the Platinum. The more I play this ball, the more the desire to play the ProV line wanes.

 

The only other way is to go to Illegal balls that exceed the USGA distance limits like the "Desperado".

Bought a box of the Freaks for a scramble on Saturday. Handed a sleeve to each of my playing partners. It was noticeably longer off the tee than my D2 Feel, my Dad's Maxfli Revolution and both of my brother's ProV1's. As far as I hit them (10+ yards longer), if they're any good off the putter I may start playing them.

Freak. I know I already posted in this thread, but you gotta try it. Hahaha. My team won a captains choice last friday, with all of us using these off the tee.
