Thinking of picking one of these up from Sellingers.

Who is good to talk to over there?

Brian or Dusty.

They just got a new SST Pure machine.

Hi

My current set up is a Tour Edge Exotics in 9° with a Diamana Blueboard 63x shaft. The spin that I get with this driver is about right I think (don't know the exact numbers, but judging by flight and roll etc it can't be far wrong). My swingspeed is around 110 or so. I'm thinking about getting one of these, but I'm not sure if I will be able to spin it enough if it's as low spin as people say. I'm thinking of the 9.5 with a blueboard again, but if anyone can help, I'd much appreciate it.

Thanks all in advance

Gents I need your feedback. I stopped in a golf shop while in DC. They didnt have any Tech a4 or Speedlines, so I hit the the Rapture V2 10.5* with Blueboard 63g stiff (stock length, sw, etc). My numbers were (avg):

ball speed: 155-159

la: 14-15*

spin: 3500-3900

No ss, but I think it puts me at 105-106?

I think 9.5*, but what shaft would you recommend? Spin is killing me, as you can see. Maybe something tip stiff? I am thinking about trying the stock Matrix in the 70g version at XStiff (since most of you say the stock plays weak).

What do you think?

the stock matrix is a 60g shaft. i'm not sure you can get a 70g version without paying an upcharge. i'd love to know though, as i'm thinking of picking up one of these drivers & i'm positive i need at least a 70g shaft.

I have the 70g version in mine, and there was no upcharge. I got it from Discount Dan's. Only hit it on the range, but so far I like it. I'm hoping to get it on Trackman soon, but the closest place I know of with it is 2+ hours away.

No upcharge for the 70g version of the shaft. Same with the Speedline.

If you are having success with your Exotics/Blueboard combo I don't think you will have any problems with the A4 9.5 head.

Thank you. That's just about the excuse that I needed.

Just need to double check the weight on my current shaft. My signature is confusing me :black eye:

quick question...

the adams people (via email) told me they can put a 70g version of the stock shaft in at no upcharge...but it is the fairway wood shaft. the specs show it to be a little more tipstiff & a little lower torque (which is fine with me). the question i have is whether a fairway shaft put in a driver play any differently? i would think a shaft is a shaft...but have no real clue & wanted to find out. they said they can make the 70g shaft play to whatever length you desire in the driver.

thanks in advance.

It shouldn't make a difference. Typically fairway wood shafts are heavier. I need the stiffer tip and lower torque, so that is why I am doing the 70g shaft. But, I am not sure what flex to go with.

Also, it looks like Adams has updated their custom options for shafts. I don't see the Voodoo, but I know you can get it. The Whiteboard, Fubuki, and Rombax Z,X,W series were added.

i'm in the same boat. i definately want the 70g shaft, but not sure which flex. my SS is 110 (higher if i try to get on it) & i'm not sure if i need the stiff or X.

Definately X. You could play a normal x, and the stock shaft plays really light.

Definitely go X. It is a very soft X...haven't cycled mine, but there is no way it cycles higher than 255.

X for sure. Thing is a noodle. Very odd shafts. Very soft in the butt, feels firmer through the middle, and softer in the tip.

You might just buy the head from Sellinger's. I think they're $239. I got mine from them off the 'bay with Accra SC75s for $260 slightly used. Feels great. No launch #'s yet, but I'm in the 105-110 MPH range too.

Are they good though if you get the shaft that is truly stiff enough for you? My SS is like 100-105 and I'm gonna get x. Do you think it'd be good?

It feels pretty smooth, I will say that.

If you have a quick transition, need to lower spin, or have too high a launch angle, -look for another shaft. I have a couple of Code 8's in some other clubs, and these feel NOTHING like the code series to me. Stability is lacking. Not so much due to overall stiffness, but the shaft profile itself. Obviously it doesn't fit my swing, but it does fit for others.

The butt section is REALLY skinny on these too. Feels like a woman's shaft due to the slender butt diameter and the thin grips they put on them.

I think the shaft feels great. Smooth and loads well, you just have to make sure you get it stiff enough. Doesn't feel the same as other Code Ozik's I've hit, but still feels good to me. Head may have something to do with that as well.

Last season I played an Geek DCT 9degree 1 degree open with a Ozik code 7 Stiff in it. I bombed this thing. For some reason I got rid of it, idiot! Was curious if anyone could compare the DCT to the 9015? What do you think of the 9015 with a code 7 in it? any opinions?

Can anyone compare the 9015d to the Geek DCT?

You guys absolutely have to pick up a Harrison Saga for this head. I thought the Rombax 8Z08 was the be all, end all for me. Put the Saga 70X in just to give it a go, and it's now here to stay. This is the smoothest feeling shaft I have ever played given how tight the dispersion is. Mid launch, LOW spin. I would throw it up against the premium $300+ shafts in terms of feel and performance, and it goes for less than $60 new.

I really can't recommend this shaft highly enough....definitely the biggest sleeper I have ever run across. I would honestly compare this shaft to the Ozik TPHD Gold...it's that good.
