What's in Yang's bag?

Recommended Posts

Congrats to Y.E. Yang.

I am very proud as a Korea, also sorry for Tiger.

some interesting info of Yang.

- He already beat Tiger in 2006 in playoff of HSBC Championship (China).

- He used to be a bodybuilder (when he was very young) and had a serious injury on his left knee, and that causes him to open his left foot a lot to swing naturaly.

Here's the new style that's supposed to be less twisty:

I don't think it was a playoff but it was a great victory nonetheless over TW and Goosen.

Yang's hybrid shot on 18 has to be one of the shots of the year on tour. When Harrington scored his 8 on #8, I fully expected Tiger to be posting #15 at the end of the day.

Life-changing day for Yang. He will be the toast of Seoul and South Korea for some time. Well deserved.

I would bet those multi-colored grips on Yang's irons will become very popular in Asia.

congats YE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely a fantastic win by all accounts. He just seemed really calm and collected all day. And to think, he started playing golf at 19. Wow!
That hybrid on the 18th was UNREAL, in that moment. He could've easily smashed it into the trees or pushed it way right somewhere into the gallery. Unbelievable.

Well done.

No too sure about now, but last year in the Reno Tahoe open when i caddied we stopped for lunch after 9 in the practice round and when we got to the 10th tee he was teeing off... I remember he had a sick white Ozik in a tour burner tp... not sure if he has the same shaft in the limited

I thought it kinda odd, too that his caddie didn't speak korean and he barely spoke any english

I think most on this board are seriously understating YE's achievement yesterday...."one of the best shots of the year on tour? "one of the most impressive wins this year"? How about one of the best shots in the history of golf and one of the biggest upsets in the history of golf, if not sports? FINALLY, someone kept their cool against Tiger when the heat was on. INCREDIBLE victory that should have repercussions throughout the golf industry, particularly in Asia.

Yeah the interview with the caddie last night on golf channel was pretty funny but telling. He basically said it makes his job easier since he doesn't have to do much of the psychology stuff with Yang because he's so mentally tough and he may not get it anyway due the language barrier.

When asked to describe his man's ability to pull it off today - heart and work ethic. That's pretty awesome.

Yang was cool as a cucumber - never more than a smile or a chuckle when things didn't go well and he just seemed to take it one shot at a time. He made the shots that he needed to, made the putts, and didn't break as others have.

Lastly, his caddie is unusually subdued. Very little celebrating or rah rah - even when the last put dropped he barely showed any type of celebration - it was almost weird lol.

He deserved that win. There is so much more to that win than just beating Tiger. He beat Tiger, and the rude galleries that move around and scream "Get in the Hole". ( God I hate them ) And how uncomfortable was that trophy presentation? They all had their Tiger speech ready didn't they? :russian_roulette:
How about that twit CBS announcer making a comment about his poor english so we will talk through an interpreter. Bet Y.E. Yang's english is better than that idiot's Korean..

What makes him an idiot? He was correct!

He should of worded it differently. You wouldn't call an overweight person "fat" would you?
