Erectile Dysfunction Advertising

It's bad enough that we have to suffer through erectile dysfunction advertising every time we sit down to watch the news or sports but now one of these ads has a graphic that says: See our ad in Golf Digest. Surely the editors and management of Golf Digest can find more appropriate advertising partners to promote their magazine and the game of golf.

I've looked at that magazine a few times in recent years. It's content is predominately advertisements with some articles questioning it's value. Something tells me they've conducted research that says most of their viewers have dysfunction problems making their readership older. Those magazines are a total waste of money.

Sadly the majority of golfers are old rich retired people who live in golf communities with broken pee pees. These ads will never go away.

I have been telling ppl this for years! You can take a 1995 edition and a 2009 edition and find the SAME articles in them, yes different equipment but same story line.
I have come to the conclusion that:
If you play golf you have ED
If you walk upright you have ED
If you shave you have ED
If you don't shave you have ED
If you have cholesterol you have ED
If you are a man you have ED
AND IF YOU HAVE A TUB IN THE WOODS YOU HAVE ED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't like the ads? Don't buy the magazine. You wouldn't go to a movie which stars an actor you can't stomach, or drive a car you don't like either.

And as far as ED goes, with all the X-Flex shafts which are in peoples WITBs here, I'm sure it's a non-issue.

What's appropriate? It targets middle aged to older men and that's golf's largest audience. I don't really understand what's inappropriate about it? It's a problem that many men have as they get older. What's the problem?

People actually look at the ads in magazines? I couldn't tell you one ad from any magazine I've looked at recently.... well except those stupid sections that look like they have content with the little note at the top saying it's a sponsored ad. Sometimes I start reading that because it's usually about golf. I just flip the pages and if there's no content I don't even process it. Same as the quick fix "instruction" pages. I fear letting one of those "tips" sneak into my swing.

Every time my wife and I see an ED ad where some man and woman are in "separate" tubs on some deck or under a tree overlooking some vista we laugh. It's the dumbest commercial we've ever seen. Nobody we know thinks otherwise too. I wonder if the guy that writes those lame ads by chance is named "ED".

I'll gladly flip the page on a soft kawk advertisement if the reveune stream from printing the ad keeps the magazine price lower. I don't feel like paying $7 for Golf Digest because they pulled the Mycoxafloppin ads.

I know it is their target group, but I finally had to turn the golf coverage off after the, and no I am not off my rocker, 3rd commercial break and 5th ED commercial.

I was trying to share the game with my son, but instead I have a 2 year old asking "Daddy, when is the right time".

This is a little un-called for to have these commercials on every sporting event. It's a little uncomfortable subject having your 10 and 12 y.o. watching old men talking about woody's during every friggin football, golf and hockey game. Enough already.

The thing that bugs me in Golf Digest is they have started to put perfume ads inside , with the stink that comes with it . I rip it out as soon as I get it , but it still smells like Cosmo or Glamour magazine .
