Celebrations on course...

Ideas please

I'm getting really close to that elusive 79 or under I can feel it in my bones with several low 80's rounds recently.

Today I had the shock of my life (my own stupid fault, internet prices are not best when you are not fit) that no - I really shouldn't be playing standard loft and lie..... anyway found that I need a 3* upright iron (Ping white dot in their fitting system) so I pulled the trigger on a set of r9 TP's ordered from the factory at 3* upright lie angle. SWEET.

So...when I actually break 80 after 3 years of seriously pounding balls, lessons & dedication - how should I celebrate? I would love to dive into a pond or something like that on course but, there is no water anywhere remotely close to the 18th.

Oh I know. The mental picture adds extra motivation while I'm practicing bunker shots. None of my golf buddies know of my plan, so I'm sure they will flip when they do see it.

i'm sure you'll make it soon and i'm sure you'll think of something creative. one thing i would advise, if you're going to do it on the course, please consider those around you. i had the unfortunate luck to be on the tee box ready to hit what, in my mind was going to be a great tee shot, when out of the blue, in the tee box opposite mine, these guys started hooting and hollaring (chest bumping, high fives, you name it) and it affected my shot. no conideration at all.

anyway good luck on your quest and keep them on the short grass.

I play regularly with more senior guys than me (I'm mid 30's they're 60 odd and really nice guys) so whilst I would still love to chug a 6 pack and call the wife to come and get me I don't know if that will be their thing!!

Who knows, maybe tomorrow is the day. Here's a happy thought in 13 hrs I'm gonna be on the course (Saturday mornings rock my world!!)

P.S. Are you awake when this is happening or is it a dream? Just kidding...hang on to the ball and glove...put them in a place where you see them frequently so you have positive reinforcement of your accomplishment and inspiration to score even lower.

Last time I strung together 3 birdies in a row I gave my playing partner a spank on the rear end.....AS HARD AS I FREAKING COULD!

My advice, just scream as loud as you can...YES!!!!... if you do that on 18 all the on lookers will think you just made eagle!, or shot 65, or something like that!!!

+2. I'm all for having a good time and marking milestones in my golf "career," but celebrating after a career round is not one of them. When I broke 80 for the first time (oddly enough with a 73) it was a simple clenched fist with the last putt, handshakes with my playing partners and I kept the ball. Same when I broke 70 the first time or when I post a career low. Save the champagne for when you win the masters

This probably goes without saying, but save and date the card! I wish I still had my first, sub 100, 90, 80 cards. I can tell you where those rounds happened but not much else.

Spray it all over. Preferably Sprite or something clear so you don't see it on your clothes. Should probably do it next to the cart so the beverage doesn't get all over the greens too.

Sorry for the suggested restrictions. It may ruin the "celebration"
