Can anybody check a Ping Serial #?

Where do you guys go to check these serial numbers?

 

All you have to do is call Ping and ask them to check the specs of whatever you have and give them the s/n. Anyone can do this! At least 7-8 years ago anyone could. I called many times to verify specs prior to purchasing by calling them myself.

That should be the first choice, but if it's 9 o'clock at night and you need to bid on something right away, you might get lucky with one of us checking online and verifying what they are looking at. Or, they could just wing it and take what comes.

Thank you! Reason I was asking is I ordered a set of G30 irons and the paper tag had "C9" written in pen on the swing weight column. I requested standard weight, so I was trying to figure out if the mistake came in ordering them at the golf shop, or at Ping. Not sure I should even bother in dealing with this at the shop/Ping because it's only 1 swing weight (should be D0 as standard).

 

I guess I'll do a little research first. Thanks again.

Here is an example of where one orders standard specs and thinks nothing of it. One should always order exact numbers (with Ping or any other OEM). Don't assume that their idea of standard is the same as yours or what is printed in the literature. Then if something is off spec, you have a arguable case. I always order exactly what I want and specify the exact lengths, swing weight and any other pertinent spec so that there is no misunderstanding.
