SuperDeep Success

I'm just curious as to know how the rest of you guys are hitting your SuperDeep and what are you setups? I am destroying mine to the point my playing partners just shake their heads after I tee off. :blind:

I'm hitting a 9.5 set to NU 8 Heel 6 Toe with a Fubuki 73S TM Graphics

My ballflight is the prettiest slight draw I've ever seen from a hacker. Ball just explodes off the clubface, carries, and then rolls. Its almost looks like I know what I'm doing out there. I've always been a high spin guy and hated big MOI Drivers when I put the SD down to frame the ball all I want to do is kill it!!!!!!

KILLING mine too. completely neutral out of the box so far. might change the weight tomorrow before the round to give a slight draw bias. best club by far ive ever hit and first ive been this impressed with. only played one round with it but only missed one fway with it and that was because i aimed where i normally do and it went THRU the fway.

It looked like Super Right with the factory set up. Mine came 16 Toe 1 Heel.

so according to the website the NU gives it a slight draw correct?

Id say my setup will give you a 10-15 yard draw with a 70gram shaft.

Mine arrived today and I was able to sneak away from work to play 18... this thing is unbelievable. Stock right out of the box with no changes, 9.5 with RIP 70S. My first drive was a mishit slightly in the heel that went close to my normal landing area on a 550 yd par 5. After that, nothing but long carry, hit-the ground-running bombs, with a slight draw. I am a high spin player and not what you would call a high swing speed player, but I have finally found the driver that absolutely seems to squash the unnecessary spin (used a Penta ball today and loved that too.) I have been searching for the yards I seem to have lost these last couple of seasons, but it appears to be back. A regular playing partner hits it past me all day usually... not today my friends. My only complaint is feel... I don't get the same feel as my R7 425 TP... the Superdeep is a little more metallic sounding and harsh. I am going to experiment with a few of my R9 420 shafts to see which works best too, but so far I am very impressed by this driver.

ok so with the 16 toe and 1 heel and in NU it should have maybe a 5 yards draw? i thought more weight in toe produced a draw, guess i was wrong

IMO that would negate the positive effects of the draw. I think the COG would be jack up if you had the club face set to draw and the weights set to fade. Try my setup or something more weight nuetral (8x8)+ NU Face to hit a consistent slight draw. When I say mine is 10-15 I mean from where I aim the ball will move right to left 10-15 yards its not that im hooking the ball, I'm aiming slightly right and the ball is literally turning and land middle of the fairway, 5 yards off the middle.

Spectacular. Selling my Cobra S9-1 Pro D and 9032LD. LD is hotter, Cobra might be lower spin, but overall, I like the SD best. Best combo of feel, launch and spin. I've tested it with a Rombax Z, Whiteboard, RIP, F7M2 LTD, 8M2 and Devotion. All are great. This is a fun club.
The R9 fairway is off the charts too. Low low spin/launch and lovely sounding/feeling.

You guys are making me rethink my 282. I'm a huge club ho, but have stuck with the 282 for a couple of seasons now. I may have to save up some jack to get one of these for a test drive.

Did you guys go up in loft or stay with what you normally play in other drivers?

I stayed with my normal loft, 9.5... brought down the launch some when compared to other TM drivers I have used.

Played last 2 years the MP-600. I´m gaming now the Superdeep. After a couple range sessions and training rounds I must say, this driver is stupid easy to hit and long. I have with the SD more distance -more carry and more roll- and more accuracy.

My setting is now N/R with 10g in the toe and 6g in the heel.

I found in another threat the Supertri settings, which are pretty compareable-except the heel weight:http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/349139-r9-supertri/page__p__2286504__hl__setup%20supertri__fromsearch__1&#entry2286504

All in all, the Superdeep, my first TM driver after 20 years ( played the original burner) is a mid launch/low/mid spin driver-depends on settings. With my SS 105 the RIP stiff is an excellent shaft.

Compared with the other TM drivers: Supertri is disigned for high launch and spin. Superfast is 46.5" and closed face and the Superfast TP is 46" and 2° open. All these spec do´nt fit my swing.

i went up one degree. i launch the ball pretty low already and wanted a mid tracjectory which i now have. if can open it up and itll be 9.5 again so im not really worried. if you feel like reading my review of the superdeep it is here: http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/378170-my-superdeep-review/page__p__2467255&#entry2467255

8.5 It's not hard to hit at all. I'm not a great golfer but i've never really known a driver to be "hard" to hit or whatever you want to call it. This feels as easy as anything i've hit.
[/quote]
Agreed! If you play a 8.5 in your current driver then you should play a 8.5 in the SD!

I couldn't agree more and I'm possibly selling my J33R and 425 TP. I haven't tried any of my other TP Tipped R9 shafts (HD7 and Whiteboard 63). I really want a R9 3wood but I just hit my HFS too well to justify buying a new 3 wood.

I always play a 9.5 and stayed with it with the SD. Dont listen to folks saying go up in loft, the SD Head is not that low launch, IMO I'd say its a PERFECT launch for a high spin guy. I never hit the RIP so I wouldnt know how it felt, I do know that a Fubuki 73 is about as perfect a match for ballflight I've ever seen with a driver. I'm literally 20-30 yards past all my playing partners every hole and they just look in amazement at my ballflight. I hit a few yesterday I couldnt even watch, I literally hit the ball and turned my back to because I knew it was a $$$ shot. I was like a kid on christmas morning.

My success continued today didnt miss 1 fairway on the back 9 of my regular course. Cracked a few places I've never see on this course today had 3 Driver/SW par 4's and eagled a difficult par 5. This club is the truth the Fubuki/SD combo is leathal.

Guys help with adjustments. NR and 16 heel 1 toe ball starts left of center and moves right. How should I have it set to get tighter shape?

Neutral Upright with a 16 hell 1 toe would probably create a massive draw. Dont know why your going right.

I traded massively at GS for a 9.5 SD with the RIP 70S. I absolutely love the shape of the head and the feel/sound at impact. I had some reservations about whether they could get it right, having a 510DF and two 300 Tours sitting down on the shelf in the basement. No driver to me has ever felt as solid as the DF.

But...I just don't care for the RIP. It's probably a good fit for many players, but I got skittish when I bought the club and didn't do what I wanted to do, which was get the 8.5. I hit the ball high, but I read the reviews and thought that the 9.5 might be better on the first go-round.

I am so impatiently awaiting a 335 and 350 tip that I'm about to go nuts. I ordered the 335 from iheartburner, so that one is probably somewhere is a sorting facility in California. The 350 is supposed to be one the way via regular mail domestically, so I hope to see it today or tomorrow.

I have a lot of trouble understanding Taylormade's business strategy on the tips. I would have been down at Golf Galaxy purchasing two 335 and two 350 tips three days after I bought the thing. Knowing a little about the machining business, these tips could be sold at a reasonable profit. I called TM and they wouldn't even consider sending me two for the two shafts I've been using with great success in the last two years.

The head, as beautiful as it is, is worthless without the right shaft for the player using it. TM needs to consider that players that buy a club like that might not find their best fit among the handful of shafts they sell with tips already installed.
