About to pull the trigger on one of these to replace my R7 425TP, but I'm a bit concerned by all the reports of lack of forgiveness on off-center hits. I know it won't be comparable to one the high-MOI models, but I assume it won't be any worse than my current driver, will it? Anyone compared the two?

Hey stu, I really don't like some of the posts on this site in regards to forgiveness. I had r7 460, 580 txxx w/epic, r9 and now SD. It's really me if I get less than stellar results with the sd. I hit both my r9 and sd on several holes the other day. I much prefer the look, sound, feel and flight coming off my SD over the r9. I would not worry one bit, other than wanting to try every shaft that pops into your head before settling on a love affair w/SD. The dude above had the nerve to suggest a vc 6.0 and now I must try that one too! Good luck!

I am liking this thread! I have a SD 10.5 RIP on the way!! Cannot wait to hit it. I have been through EVERY TM driver there has been in 2010. Tried both SF's,did like the TP, but cannot control jack! Was going to get an OG R9 head with a RIP but after scoring a SD for $150 I couldn't pass. I hope it works. Tired of looking for UPS to show up and hearing my kids say "daddy has another long skinny box at the door". Let's hope it fits me like some of you guys. I'll post my review here soon. Thanks for this thread! Damnit.

I love this driver! You do need to be close to scratch to consistently get the most out of it, though.

I'm working on my swing right now, and when I do something stupid, I'll literally miss the meat of the face...this driver is deep, which means it's not wide...that means you can't miss it an inch off the center. Anywhere within 1/2 inch is going to be a bomb.

Super low spin, great traditional look, and hot ball speeds!

I hit the longest drive of my life with this thing yesterday -- in high 40s temps. On a 380 yard par 4, I came up about 25 yards short of the green. I don't know if it hit a sprinkler head or just got a nice bounce, but I couldn't believe it. I'm in love!

Edit: It's on a course I've played several times, so I know the yardage of the hole was legit.

I initionally hated this driver but was lucky enough to get my hands on a tour one. What a difference in feel and with my matrix f7m2 at 4* open this thing is a low spinning anti left monster

I am an 8hcp with the occasional weekend of flirting with a 3-over-par score and I can consistently hit this driver 270-290. I think I am a few years and maybe a few lessons away from being a scratch, but I haven't had a more consistent success with a driver until the Superdeep! I have the Fuji Speeder VC6.0 and just loving it! Two of my buddies went and got the driver but with the stock RIP and they cannot get anywhere near my ball nor consistency. In order to reap the benefits from this driver, I really think you need to change the stock shaft -it's too boardy, no feedback, etc. Let me also add that the new Fujikura VC line has got to be one of the shafts out there with the tightest dispersion.

I may be eating my words later on, but not even the R11 will knock this out of the bag! LOL!

Project X 7A3 is an great call, but Ozik F7M2 LTD did an excellent job today. Soaring flight with a slight turnover draw.
