Never gave these a second of thought..... until I hit the seven iron yesterday at a Ping demo day. Hit about six shots and you could have put a hulu hoop around them. Very nice. I currently play Adams A4 and am quite happy yet..........

So did you buy a set???

Can I use a metal brush to clean them or will it damage the face?

I wouldn't use metal to clean irons in general

I hit these the other day and am in love. I naturally hit the ball very high and the fitter said these irons would probably be bad for me as I would hit them in to orbit. They did fly high but he said if I got them to get them tweaked 2 degrees strong but he really didnt think it was a good idea. I would get KBS x flex shafts so cant really go stiffer to lower flight. Has anyone else encountered a really high flight? I love the feel of them so much and dont mind paying the money but would hate to buy them and then regret it because I hit them in to orbit. He said there is only so heavy an stiff you can go to lower your flight. I love the look of the S56 which he recommended but I cant get on with the feel.

Ping offers the c-tapers now but by design the Anser/G15/G20 heads are made to get the ball up fast and flatten out. There is only so much the shaft can do.

Thats what I thought. I am wondering if I can manage it or if it is a silly decision to get them just cos I want them when I have an expert telling me not too.

I have KBS Tours in mine and they go higher than most irons i've ever hit. With that being said, there is absolutely no distance loss or ballooning, in fact I have gained a club and a half. The height doesn't bother me because my club has very small firm greens.

Yes height can be very good if you fit the shafts properly for the right amount of spin. Ball selection might influence that as well.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. I am perfectly happy with a high fight and dont appear to losing distance when I have demoed them but I play in the wind a bit and would be scared too just put it up there and lose control of the ball in the wind. I love the feel so maybe with KBS c taper in x I will be a very happy man.

Granted I've only hit the seven iron (not even sure which shaft it was - black dot) but the ball flight was quite a bit lower than my Adams A4's. Find a demo and give it a shot.

Take the high ball flight...it is easier to learn to hit the ball down than to try to hit it higher when you need to....just take 2 more clubs than you would normally need, choke down an inch, and hit a smooth 3/4 swing.

I hate this thread, I hate this forum, I hate that I am iron shopping and had to read all of this.......anyone loan me some money? :secret:
