Interview with Matt Rollins of Ping Golf...

Thanks to Greg (GolfWRX reporter) and Matt Rollins of Ping Golf for this great interview. Greg spent some time with Ping Golf at the Players Championship and talked shop.

Forged wedge- Hunter has had them in the bag for 3 weeks. Brushed Chrome finish and forged for improved feel around the greens. Flatter flight and a lot of spin.

G15 Irons- Why 8-10 tour players use them. Some non staffers? Sole is wider and ball goes high. Loft strong and bounce high. Good for players that are really steep and hit it low they can gain a club.

G15 Driver vs the i15 Driver on tour. Talks about the reason why G15 is so much more popular. I15 has bulge and roll and the g15 hit high straight ball.

Bubba Long Stats- He goes from 6* to 17* launch 310 carry to 335 carry with 2200 spin to 1900 spin at 185 mph ball speed. Wow... that is Bubba long.

The Ping rep didn't really answer the question of 'g15 vs. i15" irons... simply saying that 8 to 10 play the g15, much to the company's surprise.

So what are the thoughts here on the Gwrx board? I guess one arguement would be (as stated earlier) that if pro's are looking for the forgiveness of g15 (but are they really -- they're touring professionals!) then that's what the rest of us should look at.

But for those of us who aren't QUITE ready for the, uh... "unique" look of a set of shovels, why NOT go with the i15's?

And who on Tour IS playing the i15's anyway?

Posted this in another thread, but i have been converted to the 15 series irons. I have g15 long irons and I15 short irons. And i haven't hit the ball this well ever. Im a 1 handicap and couldn't be happier especially with the long irons.

Heath Slocum is playing the i15 irons I believe. Unsure if there are others.

Thanks for putting out these videos for all of us! I'm a golf professional, and people at my place love to hear this "insider" info. I showed one member a "leaked" photo of the Anser irons and he told me to order them ASAP, off nothing but a small blurry pic and a description. I would love to see more of these interviews, possibly at a little better resolution (i'm assuming you're using a camera capable of "HD"). I would love to be able to share these in the shop with some of my "club ho" members!

Not sure if you saw the photo on GolfWRX or somewhere else or what computer you are viewing the photos and videos but they don't look blurry to me on my laptop or desktop.

It was the first pic I saw, sorry if i exaggerated a bit. It wasn't on here though, should have looked here first! But buying an expensive set of clubs based on one pic is ballsy regardless of the quality of the picture
