What grips are using?

What's ur favourite brand and type of grip?

Tour velvet with five layers of tape on irons and woods.
new decade blue with 7layers on putter.
Whats ur grip set up?

driver, woods, hybrids, irons and wedges all have golf pride decade multicompound - red with one layer of tape. will never use another grip after these - hopefully i get a pay raise soon to afford them though, but well worth the money. i clean the grips with warm soapy water every few weeks which has really kept the life of them up.

 

putters: 3 scotty's that all have the red baby t grip, 2 yes that have the stock black, white, yellow winn grip, 1 nike oz mallet with winn collegiate grip. love them all.

I had new decade iron grips and found them dissapointing in cold and wet conditions.

However I love the blue new decade putter grips!

I have huge hands that are very soft and when I practiced for a long period of time the iron grips they would destroy my hands!

i liked the traction i get with chord grips, but not how they would tear my hands up and get "gunked" up so easily. with the non chord in my gloved hand, my hands don't get torn up. i also had problems last summer of the clubs slipping out of my hand when i would sweet a lot, and haven't had that problem this year. can't say how they will perform in the cold or wet since i've only had them since early march and it has been cold and hasn't rained here in the north texas since then. its looking overcast today, so maybe i'll get sprinkled on today and can see how they hold up in the rain.

Lamkin Tour Black cord, I have found a pretty good grip that's cheap just like it at Golf Galaxy, called the Grip One, I think, cost $2. So far I've found them to bee good.

I have Golf Pride 50th aniversary cords on all my clubs. Putters are GripOne black with no paint fill(like cheap ping mans). I got a whole nother set of the 50th aniversay cords once the current ones are shot. After that is most likely gonna be GripOne velvet cords.

Winn G8 grips are great. Feel almost "tacky" in your bare hand. With a glove on there's absolutely no possibility of the club slipping.

Winn G8 firm. A solid tacky grip that provides good feedback.

 

I know some people have had complained about durability, but I have no problems. I play on average 1-2 times a week and practice once a week. I generally replace my grips once a year.

Yea they were selling them at 3balls. It was like 14 grips for 25 bucks. I needed some grips for my new irons and these were cheap and what I was looking for (cord, velvetish). I liked them so much I decided to stock up and got another 14 of them. ;)

Tour Velvet guy for years here.I find them:

 

Great feeling as long as you keep them clean (mine get scrubbed every 3 or 4 games).

 

Not too hard/not too soft = great "feeling" through the club (Ive always been lead to believe a SOFT grip = lack of feel.Guess it dampens vibrations/feelings) - kinda like a shock absorber.

 

Cheap.

 

Available everywhere (great if you need one quick on a re-shaft etc).

 

 

 

I use ribbed grips,and although i have big hands i stretch mine out about 1" right through the bag.

Lamkin Corssline Cord Round, favourites hands down

I've been playing the Lamkin Dual Density grips this season. I am very pleased so far and have found these are the best grips I've every played in wet conditions. I just regripped all of my clubs with the new Golf Pride Dual Durometer Lite which changed the swing weights of my clubs from D2 to D5. My index is around a 4 or 5 but I still fight the same swing faults I did when I was a 14. My right shoulder coming out to fast on my downswing resulting in a weak fade that comes up short and right, maybe it's called coming over the top but I'm not sure. I hope increasing my swing weights will help me drop the club down and to the inside on my downswing. Just an experiment using grips.

Golf Pride V55 Ribbed full cord....thats it the only grips i use...i sand them down a lil bit bc i need -1/32......rinse with warm water and suds..then a lil sand paper every few weeks.

Currently using the Midsize (blue) G8's. I don't really care for them and will probably switch to GP tour velvet full cord or Multi-compound's

Irons have Lamkin Crossline Classic, my absolute favorite grip of all time, but sadly I cant find them anywhere anymore. Rest of the clubs have Lamkin Crossline Black.

I play G8 oversized in my irons and GP multicompound Midsized on my hybrids and woods. I do not know why exactly. My guess is that I have such a steep angle of attack on my irons and I sweep my woods, that I need the extra padding in the G8. Love both.
