+1, choi is so solid and stricker if in normal form would be even in score. Scott played really well and tiger hit a few bad shots that his partner couldn't save him. Looking forward to hear the pairings in an hour.

Being captain of the International squad is way tougher than being the US captain. There are just too many guys that you cannot pair because of the language barrier. Could you imagine Kim and Goose paired together and having to talk strategy mid round? Freddie can pair whomever he wants...

Some people make up their minds and then try to find the evidence. Yea, Tiger didn't do anything spectacular, but he did put Stricker in a number of spots where he would normally dominate and it just didn't happen. His short game was obviously rusty.

But thats what you get with alternate shot. Even if both guys are playing ok, its pretty tough to find that rhythm and stay there. Then, when neither of you can find that spark to get things going and the other guys are running away with it, you start to let it really get to you. They just didn't have it today... however, I don't think that necessarily says anything about how either of them are going to play the rest of the event. Especially considering the fact that the guys around them really stepped it up. Shouldn't be too hard to get over.

No, if you did see it you would know that Stricker hit as many bad shots in that round as he has all year. Beyond the truly bad shots, he missed shots on the wrong side of the fairway / hole. Tiger wasn't great, but poor old Stricker had a shocker.

Of course, Scott and Choi played very good of golf as well. The combination led to 7 & 6.

Man, I was thinking the exact same thing. After watching the first match on the first hole, where Els ran a wedge from the front of the green to nearly off the back, I was like, "holy crap!" Add some windy weather and this course is going to be BRUTAL.

Beautiful track, though.
