2007 was my favorite. Lowest compression out of all the versions. Higher spin than the 2009 and 2011 versions.

I'm very pleased with the 2011 Pro V1x. Super long off the tee and amazing spin on approach shots. Of course great feel off the putter too.

I like the newest Pro V1x. It has slightly higher spin in the driver, a little more height in the wedges, and a little more durable. I can't say I really compared them side-by-side, but the recent new 2005 model X Practice balls I got at my local Golfsmith sure spin less. My goodness!

If i'm being honest with myself, I can't tell a difference. I'd bet that if there were no writing on them that the pro's wouldn't be able to tell the difference either. But the typical GolfWRX'r would though. LMAO.

You're right I can't tell the difference between a Pro V1x from various years... but I know that it works well for my game and gives me plenty of mental confidence, which I can't say that about every golf ball made. With short-game shots into the green and putting I seem to perform the best with either the Pro V1 or Pro V1x. I flirted with trying Bridgestone Tour balls and even Callaway and didn't have the same confidence and short-game performance around the greens. I don't know - maybe it's all mental? But I did a lot of experimenting and 9 times out of 10 the Titleist balls worked the best for me.

The other day I had 145 yards left in the right rough and my Pro V1x was right next to a Top Flite ball that someone had left in the rough. I hit the Pro V1x and it stopped on the green about 40 feet away from the flag stick. I hit the same shot with the Top Flite seconds later and the Top Flite flew and landed on the back of the green and rolled off the back edge down the slope and would have left me about a 40 yard chip shot. That's why I play the Pro V1 balls.

My favorite Pro V1 is the 2011 version, I really like the feel of this ball off every club but my putter. Off the putter this ball feels kind of "hot" to me.

My favorite golf ball of all time is the 2007 Pro V1x. Really soft cover on a lower launching ball, absolutely perfect in my opinion.

I'm ashamed to admit that I play the Penta right now because I score best with it.

No shame in the Penta - a great golf ball!!! It's a better ball in the wind than any Pro V1 or Pro V1x.

I'm playing the Penta right now because I'm still going through my 6-pack I got from TMAG back in August. Still have 4 I haven't used! Definitely my two favorite golf balls, but I like the slightly less spin around the greens that the ProV1X has around the greens - the Penta stops too fast for me.

They all blur together to me... I can hardly remember yesterdays lunch, so a four year old golf ball is a no-go!

 

As far as Penta goes, a fantastic ball. After nearly two seasons of play I finally had to leave it behind because the V1x is just much better off the driver for me (Penta has too much spin). Around the greens I prefer Penta but the V1x is a close second. Hoping the rumors are true about the 12' Penta, similar green-side performance with less spin off the driver... Let's hope! ;)

The only difference I have noticed (other than the box lol) was the durability. 2009 seemed a little more durable than 2011, you know, for a Pro V. Others may differ, since a huge claim was the 2011 was more durable.

2005 Pro V1x. Softer cover... yes they got chewed like crazy from wedges but it was awesomely stable in wind and deeeeeeeeeep off the driver.

Played that ball until converted to TP Red LDP (and I had to start paying for golf balls) around 2008.

Most of all I loved how you could really get that thing to dance on the greens... best ball for short game. It would chew instantly and you knew you hit a really solid short-game shot. Feel of putting with it was great too with a Scotty Cameron.

I am going to agree with Mizzy Two Plane all the way around. 2011 ProV1 is my favorite for that version but for the X 2007 is as good as it gets.

2007 X was the best ever made hands down. I loved how it lowered my flight with wedges through 7 iron. And it’s softness around the greens, i really don’t like what they’ve done now in 2020, they are more tin sounding clicky and they’ve completely gone the other direction with the X it’s weird. Bridgestone B Xs and Mizuno RB Tour remind me of the 2007/2009 Pro V1 and V1x

For me as well although the I'll always be fond of the 2000 as it was the original and a game changer.
