Just had a couple Prairie brews for the first time. Birra was good and Vanilla Noir is a very good beer. I also picked up Shorts variety pack 4.0. Earl or Brixom was good but Howlin Chanski was not for me. I'll try the other two beers in the pack tomorrow.

I just got done polishing off 4 growlers from Tired Hands. So good.

About the only two things I love about living in Cleveland: Great Craft beer scene and cheap, decent golf courses.

Locally - Fat Heads makes great beer, Head Hunter is one of many gems. Some of the other regional breweries like The Brew Kettle (White Rajah!!) have the same kind of experience, with great food in their pub to go with the awesome beer.. The more well known Great Lakes had a seasonal beer called the Wright Pils which I thought was fantastic, and of course Christmas Ale is part of our local cultural Lore here. Some of the other lesser known breweries like Hoppin Frog, Portside, Willoughby Brewing Company (Peanut Butter Cup Coffee porter is one of my all time favorites) are doing really well also.

Nationally - of course dogfish head is great but my Top 3 are as follows:
1. 21st Amendment Brewery - Unequaled quality and selection. Hop Crisis is the best beer i've ever tasted. Monk's Blood is the second best. Brew Free or Die IPA, Back in Black, Sneak Attack, Marooned on Hog Island...they are all top notch. And they come in cans decorated in great artwork. Even the box that the cans come in usually has a funny story to depict. These guys dont miss a beat.
2. Bells - Hopslam is amazing, Third Coast Old Ale is amazing, Oberon is amazing, Winter White is amazing, Lager of the Lakes is solid, Amber is solid....I dunno...good beer is good.
3. Rogue - Dead guy is incredible beer. Period. Their Voodoo Donut based beers are funky. They make their own bourbon...They have brewpubs in selected markets where you can go try all their beers and I've done that on a couple of occasions.

Itw419 I was at the renshaw in clawson last night. $3 pints of all Mich beers. Plus hopslam and bourbon county barleywine on tap. Pretty nice selection of Michigan beers on tap- multiple founders, shorts, and bells. Even odd side ales.

Recently went to a class on the Breckenridge Brewing Company. I had never tried this beer and it was great!

I got a Sam Adams variety pack from a friend and have to say so far this is my favorite. It instantly went in my top 10. You'd have no idea it is a 5.3.

Went through Stone IPA and Ruination last week. Going through Ballast Point Big Eye and Sculpin IPAs this week. Picking up some Russian River Pliny the Elder tomorrow.

Have you ever heard of Tioga-Sequoia brewing ? They are in Fresno and have an IPA called General Sherman, I think it would be right up your ally. Problem is you can only get it in San Joaquin County. I got some in Tracy at Bevmo.

Have you ever heard of Tioga-Sequoia brewing ? They are in Fresno and have an IPA called General Sherman, I think it would be right up your ally. Problem is you can only get it in San Joaquin County. I got some in Tracy at Bevmo.

I wonder if I can order it to the Dublin Bevmo. I can always stop on Tracy too if I'm going over the Altamont. BTW...picked up some Blind Pig as well as Elder. Delicious.

Where did you find the Blind Pig ? I think it is possible to have them transfer some beer. If you happen to go to Tracy there is another local IPA worth trying. It is from Dust Bowl Brewing. called Hops of Wrath. They are from Turlock. I don't find it to be really hoppy, but it is a very well balanced IPA.

New craft beer brewery that will be distributing in to bars and restaraunts in the Dayton/Cincy area. 3 Brews - Ermals (light belgian) Flying Ryin' IPA. and the 10-ton Oatmeal stout. All fantastic.

I haven't tried it. It was $10 at Founders so the local bottle shops that are fair should have it priced similar. I'm hoping to get a bottle or two. Shorts Goodnight Bodacious should also be out this week. That's a good beer.

Went out to a local place and had some Cigar City Florida Cracker. Its a wheat beer and was very good. The brewery in Tampa, so if you are down in Florida on a golfing trip make sure you try some Cigar City brews. The Jai Alai IPA they make is very good as well.

Cigar city is awesome. I just had a Cigar City/New Belgium collaboration called Lips of Faith - brewed with seranno chiles...it was excellent!

I picked up 4 Goodnight Bodacious last night. Can't wait to try it. From what I have read its exactly what I like. Passed on the founders. Didn't see the point in $13 for a smoked porter myself.

Had some Pliny the Younger last week. Good beer especially for a triple IPA, but I thought it was overhyped. And the price for a small glass was outrageous where I had it.

Yea, the hype is insane. You hear people waiting in line for blocks and for hours for a few beers. Ridiculous. But I will leave work on lunch to get a couple. Hahaha.
