Ok so here is the deal...I, like most other guys here love golf equipment and love trying new stuff. Sometimes I even buy stuff that I don't think I'll like just so that I can give it a spin and put it on the BST when my initial opinion is confirmed...haha.... I usually do this because it's fun and every once in a while you get a very pleasant surprise.

Well, a few months ago I bought a damn Nike Machspeed Black from Global Golf that had a GD Di shaft in it. The shaft works really well for me and that's why I bought it. The thing was dirt cheap and I really only wanted the shaft to play around with on my next project.

The club showed up and for whatever reason I decided to take it out and hit it before pulling the str8 fit tip off. I didn't really care for the look but went to the range and confirmed that it sounded like crap, but was surprised that I really kind of like the ball flight. Next day took it out on the course and now you know the rest of the story....

I just don't like this thing but over the last two or three months it has easily outperformed every other driver that I have bought including G20, 910 D2, 910 D3, Cleveland Classic, R11, R11S, Rocketballz, Rocketballz Tour, ZL Encore, Fast 12 LS, Cleveland TL 310 and probably a couple more.....Some of these also had GD Di shafts in them.....

A couple might have been a couple yards longer, a couple might have been slightly more forgiving, but none of them performed better overall.....

I'm actually a little pissed off about it.....LOL....been on GolfWRX too long!

Who else has this happened to and did you keep it in the bag???

It seems the only main driver you haven't tried is the i20. You will more than likely be sold right there.

In reality, whatever works for you should be your gamer. If the Nike club works for you, go with it.

I tried to like the TM R9 460 driver and layed a few good shots out there with it but it was sold at a fundraiser garage sale yesterday. My new Fast 12 LS and my old reliable Rapture for the near future. I really like the Fast 12 LS.

2008 big bertha I-brids. I bought a set of irons off here for little of nothing for a friend I though was interested. It included 4-pw and the 4-5 were I-brids and ugly as hell.

I took them out for a quick 9 for grins and had the hit the 4-5 a couple times including the 4 on a long par 3 that I buried to a few feet. The 4 is still in the bag and the 5 comes and goes. That 4 is just stupid straight and easy to hit. I get "What the hell is that?" quite often.

The original nike sumo2 square 3 wood...that thing was a monster for me. I still haven't found a 3 wood that I can hit as well or even as far as that thing...but I sold it a long time ago because I couldn't look at it anymore

I am having the same issue albeit on a much smaller budget lol. I keep trying to find a driver to replace my 905s which is not the most forgiving club. However i keep putting it back in the bag and selling the club i tried to replace it with.

The latest to come and go is the Rapture v2. Didnt like the longer shaft and hit it the 9* too low. Ebay auction for it ends today lol.

I bought a Tommy Armour 845 IWood hybrid. Liked the look of the head and it was my first time trying a hybrid club. Thought since all it came with was a R flex TA graphite shaft I'd reshaft it shortly after I got it. Took it out and just killed this thing. Still in the bag -- graphite shaft and all.

Yep I had one of these a few years ago to and they were surprisingly good!

Cleveland Hibore XL drivers. They feel like crap, sound like a shotgun, and look like an ice cream scoop, but my old trusty just knocked out my G20 and WRX lofted Rapture v2. I do, however, like really like the fairway woods.

I'm gonna VTS both of them up in a couple of weeks and see if that improves the flight and feel a little bit.

The MX-700 5 wood. This club is ridiculously easy to hit and it is long. It has the stiff Exsar shaft in it and nothing has come close to kicking it out of the bag. It has even made my 3 wood redundant.

Driver - TBD
3 Wood - TBD
5 Wood - Mizuno MX700, PF v2
4-PW - Adams CMB, C-Taper
Wedges - Mizuno T4 52/58, S400
Putter - Odyssey Versa #7, SS 3.0
Ball - TF Gamer

Adams Tour Issue 14.5 BTY with Proforce V2 76 that I lovingly call FUGLY.

Probably the cheapest combo I've tried in the last 4 years and I have tried ALL of the "best" 3-woods out there with various high end shafts and none can beat this combo. She's not the prettiest girl I've ever brought to the dance but she puts out...I mean performs ;-)

I told my playing partners that if I ever show up with another combo to slap me accross the face!!
