Afraid to admit it, but bought a pair of skechers shoes (go golf elite 2). A buddy of mine bought a pair a couple years ago before they became a bit more main stream and said they were the most comfortable shoes he's ever worn. The only downside..Well they're Skechers LOL.

 

Wore them around the house for a few hours and I'm sold. My last two pairs of golf shoes have been dryjoy casuals. These will definitely give them a run for the money. We'll see when we get on the course.

 

Don't feel bad. I too have been really tempted to pick a pair up.

 

Wore them to the range for the first time today. Really like them so far. Will most likely see their first on course test this week or next weekend.

First let me say that for decades I just used two of my irons for alignment assistance when appropriate however as I usually hit off of the grass area on the line, I would sometimes be hitting in dirt, mud and a mixture of both and as I observed this phenomenon known simply as the alignment stick explode right before my very eyes and what started out as a few guys, usually Players, turned into nearly every guy on the line who had his own bag had sticks in em.

 

I'll never forget in the fall of 2012 and I was sitting up above in one of the empty Instruction bays looking down and out at my range and there were 42 guys hitting balls with 34 having their own bags(the other 8 had brought only a few clubs or were using our God forsaken loaners, though Madison came through like a Champ and secured 5 demo Nike Sasquatch Sumo drivers, lol). Of those 34 guys, 29 had sticks in their bags. I do not remember how many sucked but it was well over half because most didn't even know how to properly use them, but damn did they look purdy, lol.

 

Which brings me to my revelation that I was tired of getting my shafts and grips grimy and dirty and occasionally stepping on my irons so I broke down and bought a set of sticks-

For $1.99 each...

 

Yep, the sticks pictured below. Canary yellow with a point at one end and a yellow cap at the other-

 

After securing my sticks, I meandered over to the electrical department and grabbed a roll of what I call "Mizzy" Blue electrical tape and I wrapped it around my sticks in the appropriate length at the top for a couple of drills that I do.

 

I took great pride in that I did not spend the going rate of $25-30 for a set(we had em at the range for $24.99/pair), with my club(and Oakmont and most of the other big clubs offering them also) having a set that were Black/Red with our club's name on them for a paltry some of $37.99, lmao.

 

The fact that Madison carried a set of collapsible sticks in her bag and bought me the same set for my birthday didn't stop me from displaying my Mizzy Blue/Yellow sticks in my bag with all of the other Poseurs, Players or not?

 

So about half way though the summer, I put a hybrid cover on em while I hit the club and as I walked back to my bag and really looked at the cover on the sticks, I thought, damn, that cover on em looks much better than those two sticks protruding like a red headed step child from my bag, lol. As I had far more covers than clubs to put em on, my next time out I put a Stillers hybrid cover on them and it looked nice and manly amongst all my pink covers, lol It also had a Velcro closer so I could insert them, fasten the velcro around them and it stayed on them and held them securely(see 2nd pic from top below)

 

So, while I was a sheep in carrying sticks, I rationalized that I was different cuz I covered mine, lol

 

Pathetic, I know, but heh, we each do what we gotta do to get through the day ;)

 

So FF to about a month ago and I'm lookin for breast cancer covers as I have about any one that's been up for sale and in this company's site, I felt me across "alignment stick covers"

 

I was flabbergasted and excitedly texted my discovery to Madison and she replies "duhhhh, what rock have you crawled out from under. They've had them for sale for a year or two-

So I ordered the pink leather cover and it matches my WRX driver cover perfectly!!

 

It's like the "Garamimals" for Golf ;)

 

Fits securely and they made this big deal about the cover being 15" long and dropping down past the top of most bags to "protect" your sticks, lol

 

WTF?????

 

They're friggin plastic sticks not a a $450 aftermarket graphite shaft, and mine cost $3.98 + tax total, lmao

 

So, here it is, the latest accouterment for the golfer who has everything except one iota of impulse control ;)

 

Oh yea, they have a bunch of different colors, all solid and sell for $19.99/cover

Been adding a bit of navy blue to the wardrobe this year. Figured id go more DJ and JT than Kuch with it so I just ordered this navy lizard belt from Patrick Gibbons, but with matching navy stitching not white. Gonna do some white/navy myjoys once we get the appraisal back on the home we're about to close on and know exactly what our out of pocket will be.

While waiting for the Puma's to come back on the GG website my impatience kicked in and I decided to take a trip to the store. Pretty much tried on everything from the DNA/Freestyle/Hyperflex in FJ to the Spieth One to all of the Nikes...again...for at least the 3rd time this spring. I ended up buying a pair of last year's Powerband Tours. Have to say that I'm still a little shocked as I have never really liked Adidas and the only thing I have ever bought from them are some ankle socks. That's it. I was blown away by how comfortable these fit and how secure they felt to the ground. Not bad for only $115. We'll see how I like them on the course over the next few weeks but I've been impressed when walking around the store / house in them.

 

 

Played 1st round today in these and was very impressed for the $ spent. Very comfortable and stable shoe out of the box and honestly could have walked another 18 in them easily. For under $120 these are awesome shoes.

Over the last few days I've put together my 2017 haul pt1. the grey pullover on the left is the 2016 wool pullover but oh well. not pictured are the joggers that I HATE the fit on and am trying to trade.

everything fits well but the aeroreact polo is interesting. I LOVE how lightweight it is, but as a L, it fits a bit bigger than expected. May try to swap my joggers for a M aeroreact polo.

I plan to have another order in a month or so with 2 pairs of black flex pants, tights, a few pairs of shorts and some TW71s if they come in a wide.

I bought a pair of Puma's in that same color. Great color, but hard to put it with something. I have a matching shirt, but other than that. I guess the only colors are Black, Tan (i don't own a tan shirt) and Navy...
