Not gonna lie, I'm a little envious of you right now. I'm a PING guy but gotta say after grabbing a set of new VR Pro wedges and loving them, a Covert will be purchased. As long as it sounds and feels good I'm all in.

The CoG placement of this one has me a lot more excited than R1. Whether it will win out is the question. I've had at least a dozen drivers challenge the Superdeep. Nothing has beaten it yet.

Unless I find a better fit, which could be tough. If I can get a hold of multiple tips, I'll probably try out Whiteboard 83-X as well.

Perhaps a revolution is occurring with the flex loft system? Could make some convenience for setting up for a particular course in terms of dialing in precise distances for "MUST HAVE" shots. I've had Nike all my life. Never a complaint about any of their products whether it be golf, running, basketball, etc. That said, I'm not crazy about the big swoosh on it as I like a more traditional appearance but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued by this design in the '13 line.

I've tried a 73x whiteboard and that was a monster so I could only imagine what an 83g would be like. Hopefully Nike will release the tips for sale unlike past versions where it was impossible to get them.

Wait until you see it in person. I was concerned about the swoosh as well . You won't even notice it. The head on the tour looks smaller than it actually is. Trust me on that!!!

^^^I agree. The swoosh is there, and I think it looks great on the club. It's hard to describe in a way. You see it there, but it's not there in a way that is distracting. With the red top and the black face, to me the Covert Tour looks smaller than my VR Tour. And I earlier voiced my concern about the "Covert" being an alignment style aid on the crown. In person, it didn't bother me at all. It's kind of hard to see the small black letters against the red. Well done Nike.

Just goes to show you its all about prespective. At the beginning of this post I was clowning the looks of this driver but after the R1 pics came out this doesnt look so bad. Im not a fan of any graphics or colored heads but the more I look at this one that better it gets. Now would it perform just as well if it were black, absolutely but its business and I get that. I think another advantage this one has over R1 is that it just doesn't have more adjustability but actually has more tech in the shape to help with ball flight. The R1 looks like a r11 with a dial and stickers on it.
