CP.....did you use the long screw trick and still had an issue?

I think I will wait....a member might help me out with a sleeve. My issue is, pull the GD Di (awesome looking with this head) shaft up a UST VTS Red, or a Orange Accra Proto Tour Z? Maybe a Fuel.....that looked like a match!
definitely a good idea to wait. i had a slow morning today so i spent alot of time in the club repair area and convinced myself to do it.

explain to me this long screw trick?

You use a long screw (aftermarket screw with the same tip size that will screw into the sleeve) on a shaft puller to avoid as much heat on the upper sleeve....basically creating more space in order to heat the upper half and not melt the plastic cover. It's been posted on here before.

I always use all metal versions because of this.....I need to make contact with someone to see if there will be all metal R1 sleeves and any with more flat lie options...if not, time to try 44.5" or slightly less..I am owning the toe with the R1, more the swing but I feel it sits more on the heel side of the centerline like the R11 did for me, were the R11s dies not.

I am all over the toe on the R1, but since im putting my shaft in that will be 45" i think that will help some. i figured the long screw had something to do with the shaft puller. well i got it off with minimal damage, would i do it again? no, ill buy some more. and my RBZ/r11 adapters are all metal because i hated the melting ferrel.

I love my boy Mark King, but I think the R1 driver is visually too much for me. I don't care for the stock shafts either. I would feel like a tool carrying one of these drivers to the first tee.

I will stick with my Ping G20 and RBZ as a backup.

With no discernible gains in performance and the main changes being aimed to help the retailers and not the golfer, many share you sentiment Bucky.
To the majority who have commented here, the R1 is the most disappointing driver TM has released in years. Incredibly bad timing with Nike introducing a driver that has everyone interested.

I'm a Cobra guy...drivers anyways... Like the sound... Like the feel...just a preference, nothing more... With all the talk of the R1's adjustability... How this one head, multiple loft thing is revolutionary... Didn't Cobra reveal their technology first? Aside from that... The review I read said 2 yards gentlemen.... 2 WHOLE YARDS... The upgrade in performance is 2 YARDS... So everyone talking about the performance of it.... I say again.... 2 YARDS. Who's gives a crap about about performance...who gives a crap about looks.... If you want to buy the latest and greatest just to say you have the latest and greatest or cause you just gotta be " that guy " with the fresh gear every year then just do it. When we read a performance revue with ultra great ratings and no significant yield in performance....Kool-aid. If you just HAVE to have a putter with some stamp on it that makes you think it's something more than just a putter with a stamp on it...Kool-aid. But who cares.... I like my brands Kool-aid too. The bottom line is.... It doesn't truly perform any better than the R11s... It doesn't really perform any better than the 913... It doesn't do s**t except tell the world you like Taylormade's Kool-aid. I like Cobra's Kool-aid. A lot of guys like Taylormade's Kool-aid... But for the love of god... It doesn't do s**t more for anyone than the R11 does. Just wish people would stop pretending it's not just Kool-aid.

I saw Russell Wilson at the range last week with one...should I tell him next time that Bucky said he looks like a tool?

On the USGA conforming list for this week, R1(version 1) is listed with the lofts available via the collar system (8,9.5,9.5,10.5,10.5,12). The listing for the AMP Cell seems to similarly list all available lofts via the collar. However, TM has a R1 (version 2) that's listed as only being in 8.5, 10 and 11.5.

Just as a contrast, the Covert is only listed at one loft, 8. Some difference in how some manufacturers submit numbers maybe, but that Version 2 sure looks like some "locked down" versions for some of the guys.

If its true that they are offering multiple lofts on tour isn't that evidence that the one loft technology does not work?
I remember when we heard this last week, and now it's coming up again. Very interesting that the driver TM tells us is the ultimate in customization and the best driver they have ever made.....is not the same driver that will be used by players on tour.

Looks like the V2 has adjustable lofts as well. Greg has pics of it at the Sony.
