Yup. TM always makes a V2 "smaller tour issued" head with every driver release, nothing new.

talk about great marketing for their new tour irons and driver. not to mention im sure he had the stage 2 in there. i saw he still had his r9 5 wood (he told us at dinner in Naples hed be keeping that club in)

ive been hearing 3 separate lofted models but I dont know. i assume 3 separate lofts

in the pictures from Hawaii the sleeve is different from retail, its the 1.5* from previous models not the 2* sleeve from this year. which makes me think even more that its 3 separate lofts

but its no big deal, tour players dont need that sleeve, they dial it in and keep it set. im assuming the have seprate lofts because of the face angle changes theyd get dropping it to 8* from 10*, the face would open 4*. i assume theyd rather not have to deal with the face angle change so drastically.

Why would they not use the compass to correct the face angle? Couldn't you just set it to extreme West setting?

So first we are told to spend $900 on a driver that should MSRP for $700 and now we are being told to buy a driver that is One Loft while the pro's are playing a specific loft.

Is this normal business practice in the golf industry? From what I understand usually upgrading to another shaft through the OEM is a better deal than buying separate since we only have to buy one shaft and not the stock and then the upgraded version. Isn't the technology that the Nike, Titleist and Ping staff uses the same technology that I can buy at my local shop?

that for the 99% of us the 1 loft system should work and thats what they are going to sell us. I get how some of you might take offense to the fact that TM is lying about the 1 loft system, etc. but TM has always done this so is it really that surprising. If I had the money to waste, I would get the V2 head, I think it looks way better.

i agree, it says we arent professionals and dont need what they have. the one loft system will work for all of us because if you do the correct thing and get fit by a pro he will get you at the right loft, face angle, and every other little detail. its essentially all in the sleeve and we are getting a 10* head. i completely understand why some people would say wait what why do they get this but they say ours will work just fine. but at the same time, they are pros, we dont need what they have. we want what they have.

80% of golfers play the wrong loft, thats why the one loft to adjust to the correct loft
0% of pros play the wrong loft, thats why they have specifically lofted heads.

Is the suspicion that Taylormade offers the different heads for their tour staff as to not compromise bulge and roll design, gear effect, COG location....etc? And that their opinion may be that a properly fit retail R1 driver should be more than adequate for the amateur?
