Who is it? The PGA Tour logo

I always thought it looked like Nicklaus but it could be anyone. Any of you guys know?

I always thought it was neat that the logo could either be a lefty or a righty depending on how you look at it. Its righty when you look at it as being head on, him facing you...lefty when you look at him as having your back to you.

 

Most probably already knew that, but I always thought it to be neat.

i personally think it kinda looks like Phil Mickelson in his amateur days, like about the time he won for the first time on the PGA Tour.

When asked years ago the PGA Tour said it was a compilation of swings.

It looks like someone fromthe 70"s for sure, with a little reverse C action. It reminds me of Jerry Pate.

 

FYI, the NBA logo is modled after Jerry West, I have heard the NBA confirm that for sure.

I'd be inclined to say it was "The Towering Inferno" before Johnny Miller. The logo's left foot isn't rolled over enough for it to be Miller.

I was wrong on my first reply here - Weiskopf was the basis for the senior tour logo.

 

 

Not true. The senior tour logo is based on little known pro Jim Ferree.

I think it's time for a new and modern/updated PGA Tour logo with a modern golfer as a model.

That's all we need. The Golf Channel and the PGA Tour have their heads so far up Tigers a** now it's unbelievable. Put him on the logo and they might as well give him the deed to the place.
