My new hand made putter

My name's Ian, I'm 19, and i'm a toolmaker. Recently got an account on Golf WRX and came across various threads about peoples home made putters. So i decided to do my own. I used a manual Bridgeport turret mill, so the putter body has all been hand milled, and a colchester 2500 center lathe. I also had use of a sandblaster and laser engraving equipment.

The putter is made from 316 stainless steel- not to sure whether this gets used for putters or not, but that's the most common material that is stocked where i work, it has decorative brass plugs on the back, and a brass face inlay. It has a 70 degree lie angle and 2.5 loft.

The project took about 12 hours to do, and i'm pleased with how it turned out.. But let me know what you think?!

Yeah I used it the other day, I own a Teryllium Scotty cameron newport long neck putter aswell - That is now out of the bag, but hey, maybe i'm being a bit biased?!

Looks really good. Are you having any issues with it dragging on the ground after contact? Looks like very little sole draft and camber, which is unusual.

Thanks, I think for my next one i shall experiment with a few different materials. Probably some sort of weights, to bring it up to the "more common" 340g marker, and also add a bit more shape to the sole of the club, Although i Haven't noticed it "dragging" yet. Thanks for the feedback!

I would be limited slightly as to what shape and design i could produce , due to only having manual machines, but i can think of a few ways round that. If anyone is interested, maybe Pm me a sketch of roughly what they would be after, and few basic specs, material etc, then I can let you know whether i'd be interested in taking it on or not. Looks fantastic for a first attempt. I bet it's great to have access to machinery like that. I wish I did! I made mine on a tiny benchtop mill and it took forever!

[size=5][sup]"Thanks, decided to start another one this weekend.. will be a mallet style putter, consisting of three separate pieces, will have a center shaft and a painted or powder coated finish..
If all goes as planned on that one i will be putting that up on here to.. May even decide to sell it, if there's any interest
