I'm sure if it's real , the big boys would pay big bucks , but no offense its a very ugly putter and who would this on display next to there CTs, 009s and what have you. I do hope its real though and you why don't you email scotty to see if you can get an update
Beauty is subjective. This putter, if real, is a masterpiece in its own way.
And if it isn't real, it's not?
It would certainly be much less of a masterpiece IMO.
I'm failing to see how it being real or not changes it's beauty in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I think it looks terrible, but I can understand the value if it was in fact an early handmade made by Cameron. Why wouldn't it be a masterpiece if I made it instead of Cameron? What if a different Roman painter had painted the Sistene chapel in the exact same way Michelangelo did? It's about the quality of the work, not the name of the artist, IMO.
here is a thought experiment for you then . If i painted an EXACT replica of the mona lisa (same canvas, oils etc) and signed my name , would that mean that i wouldn't be writing this , but instead be counting stacks of $100 notes

In short, NO. If you painted the original, not a replica, then you'd be rolling in the dough. It's like the Cobra sportscar created by Shelby. The originals go for hundreds of thousands of dollars, but the replicas, which are just as beautiful, go for less than $50,000.

If you painted an exact replica of the Mona Lisa, it would be as beautiful as the original, but far less valuable. I'm not referring to the value of the putter if it's real. If it is in fact a real Cameron early handmade, I understand it's value (I don't agree with the reasons for its value, but a free market economy does what it will). I am speaking purely with regard to its beauty.

Don't confuse value with beauty. The best looking hookers aren't always the best value. Some of those diseases last lifetimes. Thanks for the thought experiment.

Considering handmades go for $10-15K...but something like this hasn't been seen before. Makes it tough to value and if it were real you would see some big dogs come out to play.

Still say its fake. COA wouldn't take this long. It's probably been melted down at the local scrap yard at this point.
I think the handmade market has cooled down considerably

When a putter needs Scotty to look at there's no telling how long it takes to get it in front of his eyes.

I went to high school with a Scott Cameron. I texted him and he said he never made a putter before. This must be fake.

Seriously though, how long does this process legitimately take???

False, if you really went to high school with him you would know his name is actually Don.

Only his mom called him Don, everyone else called him El Diablo.

I'm genuinely curious what the normal time frame on a COA is. Also if it's fake, imagine the reaction he gets when he actually sees it? That would be amusing to watch

I have no idea what you're trying to say. I'm referring to his 20+ meaningless posts over the last 6-8 hr window in random putter threads.

I would bet a BST ad pops up shortly with a few putters in it :to_become_senile:

After further review here is what I would feel uneasy about, I am not anywhere an expert in Cameron putters these are nothing but observations and I can be wrong:

1) The font used for the initials appears different than the one used for Scotty Cameron
2) The rust seems to have been pushed down into the cavities of the initials stamps when they were stamped
3) The weld appears to have been made recently since it was ground down and is rather shinny in comparison to the rest of the putter
