bestgrips, it would cost 36 bucks to ship to canada for 3 grips, it should cost 15, is their a cheaper way 86 bucks for 3 grips is tough , or have you considered selling them in canada, thanks TIM

That is the quote the site is pulling dorect from usps and fedex. Now we cannot ship parcel due to the lack of tracking, but I will do my best to get this amended and fixed. In the meantime, send me an email and I will work a better rate.

How long do the microperfs last for someone who hits balls every second day. Do they get worn and hard with age? Are these larger than 'standard' grips?

What is everyone putting on their woods that has the Best Grips on their irons? Or are you guys putting them on all your clubs?

Alright, these have raised an eyebrow. A couple of questions:

1) If I am typically used to a a slightly oversized cord grip, and don't want any slippage in wet play, which of these grips would be best (no pun intended)?

2) The stitching on the back - does this act like a bit of a "reminder" as with ribbed grips?

Thanks,

MG

Micro perfs should last a VERY long time regardless of use. Like any leather product, gets better with age as long as you wipe them down every so often. They shouldn't get hard at all. They are 'std' size, but have a lack of taper design so the bottom hand portion of the grip will feel bigger.

When I had them, I put them on every club, woods through wedges and have a major leaguer for my putter.

The micro perf has a little more 'traction' with the perforation, but I found my classics with 2x protac were more than adequately sticky for wet play. The wetter the stickier it seemed, just wipe with a dry towel and it's crazy how tacky they are.

The stitching does feel like a bit of a reminder as with ribbed grips.

I'll address a few questions based on my limited three round experience.

1) I'm carrying Microperfs on my wedges and Classics (with extra pro tac added) throughout the rest of the bag.

2) The temperatures have been north of 100* and incredibly humid during each of my rounds. Both grips feel similar in terms of firmness and tack. I've worn a glove at times but could easily carry these without a glove. Zero slippage and I haven't had to wipe them with a wet cloth to restore tack.

3) I don't know if it's meant to be, but the stitching definitely acts as a reminder. I thought the stitching might be an issue, but hardly notice it now.

4) the grips are larger than standard and have a less tapered design. I usually install 4 wraps of tape under my bottom hand and only went with one on these (I believe they simulate three wraps already). The grips were much easier to install with one wrap using air and soapy water.

Really pleased with performance thus far. Think I made the right choice in avoiding the basketball/football leathers.

Edit: sorry if I've been redundant. I was typing as czastrow was posting. Cheers.

I have had one on my driver for about 2 months now. They are definitely awesome in hot humid weather and have only played in pouring rain once but I also used rain gloves. My only complaint is that the butt cap on mine ripped up like a wet piece of paper for some reason and it has exposed the sharper corners of the cap so now my gloves are ripping in the palm every so often (I have never ripped a glove in the palm before). I have been pondering changing all my grips to these but I don't know if the butt caps are expected to tear up like that or if it was a fluke. Other than the butt cap, they are very high quality and perform exceptionally in humid weather and I have some rather large paws that sweat a bit

I don't know if it happened from normal wear and tear or if it happens when inserting/ removing clubs from my bag. Here is the cap I mentioned above:

I notice a few of these pics of worn out butt caps pop up every now and then, but I'm rarely contacted about them.

I wish you would've contacted me when it happened. I can't do anything about something I don't know about.

Wipe down regularly with a damp towel. Will keep the smudging away, the leather soft, and the tack up.

It is tan, I took this pic after a range session where I noticed it. I usually wear an old glove at the range so I don't wear out new ones.. The old gloves are pretty blackened from my other grips and sweat combined so they smudge up the leather grip but yes a wipe down usually does the trick to clean it up.

Is it common for the MicroPerf grips to feel sticky when installed? And by sticky, I mean that residue is left on my hands after gripping the clubs. I did not get any solvent or tape on the grips, nor did I tear the liner or leather. I wipe the grips down with a damp towel, then a dry cotton towel. Fibers of the cotton towel get stuck on the grip.

Anyone else experience this?

My guess is that is what they refer to as ProTac. I don't mind the residue since it helps with the clubs I don't have Best Grips on but I know others that have tried my clubs didn't really like having the residue on their hands.

As far as the install being permanent you can blow them off with air. I just swapped mine from a set of CMBs to AP2 but you just have to be really patient and use a lot more air pressure than you would blowing off a normal rubber grip.

I installed a new set of Microperfs on my wedges and purchased a full set of Classics from a Forum member for the rest of my set. The latter had twice the protac added and I definitely noticed a substance on the surface. The grips are the patriot model and are advertised as dark blue. They almost appear black depending on the sunlight, unless you wet them and they appear more blue. I don't know if this has anything to do with the protac. I do love the tackiness of the grips and they seem to perform even better when it's humid outside.

I ordered a set of the Micro-Perf standard tac for my MP68s and have been very happy with them. Installed with air (4 wraps of painters tape) on the Rip 115s and they're rock solid. Prices are on their website and are very reasonable for true leather. Using air and painters tape, you avoid solvent spillage issues, can change the grips in less than a minute and can play immediately after installing.

I wouldn't call it gunk. When you wet the ProTac grips (MicroPerf and Classic), the ProTac will activate the tackiness may stay on your hands for a few seconds, but will dissipate immediately. How much tack there is can also be determined by the humidity. High humidity = more tack. Low humidity = less tack.

Here's a pretty sweet Custom MicroPerf Club Grip we made. BestGrips Tan with blue foil Texas embossings and a carolina blue stitch. While the foil embossings and blind embossings may not last as long as engraving, they look really really good.
